I like music in general, I listen to everything, classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop... actually there is so much music around that it's impossible not to miss something interesting. The only thing I don't listent to really often is maybe electronic stuff, I usually prefer things played by real people (well, keyboards and stuff are also played by real ppl so maybe I wrote something dumb).

I also enjoy music which is maybe (according to some) less 'good' than other I don't listen to, but I don't care (guilty pleasure hehe) otherwise we should all listen to J.S. Bach alone...

btw I am not even good at telling which genre everything belongs to exactly :P

If it's a song, and it's in my language (Italian) then I am more picky about the lyrics. I don't know, if something is in my language it sounds so plain and ordinary to me.

If it's in a foreign language (I listen to stuff in English, German or Japanese) the 'exotic factor' kicks in, and I think I enjoy them more.

(and also, the fact that I could even listen to a song telling 'f u all' and nobody understands, and they even hum along is priceless )

I can't do otherwise than to like people who start a post with "music is my biggest passion" and mention post rock in it.

Post rock is probably the most underrated genre of today. My favorite post rock track is Moments Collapsing the Eternity by Crimson Mourn. Wonderful title to think about, even better emotional music. Gives me goose bombs every time I listen to it.

I also really like IDM (intelligent dance music, I prefer describing it as braindance because I think the word intelligent is haughty). Excuses by bibio and skyward bruise by clark give an idea about it. I also like Boards of Canada, seen the fact that they combine both genres.

I never heard of neofolk, going to have a look at it.

I already know and like jon hopkins. Emancipator was new to me and I enjoy him/her/them very much, thanks!

If you do not know aphex twin yet: with this list of genres, you might enjoy him very much. Might want to start with I Care Because You Do album (most Boards of Canada-ish). But I doubt you don't know him :)
