Reallity Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Dry it with a piece of paper then put it upside down on your heater. Epic fix for all wet electronic devices. Or just open it up and dry everything inside Quote

Angry Mosquito - Alex Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 does the keyboard taste better with some coffee on it? Quote
Chameleon Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 This. did this before i did anything else, didnt work.. Quote
Midnight Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Don't drink coffee. Problem solved. But honestly can't help you there. Never had the issue, because if I fry my keyboard there goes my whole computer. Quote

There will be multiple sheets of thin plastic that need to be cleaned, and dried. At the same time, you cannot get the circuit board wet. The plastic can get wet with no issues, providing you use WARM and not hot water (I don't know if it'll melt with really hot water or not). The sugar/cream/oils in coffee will lead to the sheets sticking in some places, and not making contact in others, which will lead to some keys constantly pressing numbers/letters, and others having no response at all..which is probably what you're experiencing now. kapone Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Throw it in a big bowl with white rice, will soak up the liquid and dry it. 2 Quote
Xernicus Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hmm. This is may sound a little extreme, put put it in a dishwasher, it's a tried and true method.I'd suggest taking out the circuitry and washing it separately (not in the plastic case is all). Of course, this is assuming you have a membrane keyboard- if you have a mechanical keyboard, this method will be tough. Some articles about how to do this "properly":http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=11029793http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10459209-263.htmlhttp://www.howtogeek.com/65915/how-to-clean-your-filthy-keyboard-in-the-dishwasher-without-ruining-it/Good luck! Chameleon Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 So a,w,s,d all work? Great! You can still play games. Yeah but the bummer is, I use the other side of the keyboard to play games, like the up down arrows and such haha.. I went out today and got a new keyboard, but the only place open was a biglots and the only one they had for sale was apparently made for infants haha, but I guess it is better than not having one.. I know. You told me this. I was trying to make light of the situation and a joke. Obviously failed. And maybe it's best to you start with an infant one. Hehe! 1 Quote
