Xfire freeze/crash when detecting installed games.

First thing I do every time I boot up my computer is load Chrome and Xfire, without fail.

Today, I loaded Chrome and Xfire as normal, but then I didn't receive the elevation(UAC) request from Xfire I normally get. So I decided to open Xfire and see what was wrong. Nothing, I couldn't open Xfire from the tray icon. So I force quit it, loaded it again and opened it as soon as I saw the icon. Xfire is hanging on "Detecting installed games." even though I've disabled that feature. I've tried running it as admin, renaming the xfire_games.ini and then loading Xfire. Nothing as has worked thus far.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated :)

xfire is experiencing some temporary problems...may take 3 or 4 times to log in. what i would do is make a support topic on their forums and try to talk to one of their tech guys.

but from what i see it might not only be you experiencing this problem. Recommend deleting and reinstalling. seemed to have worked for me or you can wait it out.

I think the only reason it's showing the "Detecting installed games" bit is because it's the first "screen" to be displayed. There's no actually progress in the progress bar, it's completely empty. In essence; it opens, then it hangs, then I kill it.

Nothing to do with Xfire having problems with connecting or owt like that. If it was that, then I would still be getting the UAC request but I'm not even getting that.

hmmm so what your saying is that the uploading bar isnt working? and thats causing xfire to freeze/time out.

well if its not a connection problem could be an install problem...honestly dont know how to fix that one without see what your talking about.

You're useless >_> lol

Not the upload bar, the loading bar. The one you get when it's telling you what it's doing while it's loading. That bar. Looks like a bar you'd get when something's installing. THAT BAR!

Sorry, too much caffeine today.

EDIT: I'm just going to try reinstalling it. See if that does it :)

Did this problem start on Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday"?

I received the Updates Available Notification at 10:19 pm GMT Tuesday.

Just wondered because I am running the 2.0 and that is working fine.

Edit: So I can't help although I guess you could try the 2.0 xfire client.

Tried the 2.0 client, hated it. Buggy and bloated are the only two words I can think of when I use it :(

Also, it's so bloody hard to find anything and they don't have player listings, which I use a lot, like they do in the 1.155 client.
