Use the psh34 or the gun with 10 extra bullets (I forgot its name) in silent1 so you can afford to miss more shots before reloading. (The last 10 shots are very useful if you're not dead already* you ropponent should be reloading after 30 shots, so you should be able to take your time to aim with the remaining 10 shots)

And use the m97 shotgun in jay1 so you can kill more without getting headshots. It's 1-2 shots = kill at close range, they would need like 200+ hp to survive

Read about cfg and learn how to apply one you will become 10 times better . Make sure you have a good mouse and mousepad for your aim . Hafe fun .

A good player is somebody who

1. does the right thing at the right moment

and

2. does it well

So first you have to ask yourself if you fail at #1, #2 or both

For example going in a place full of enemies, when it was obvious that they would crossfire you is mistake #1, if you die in 1on1 it's probably a lack of technique (#2), but even in 1on1 there is tactics, for example one of the first thing I've learned is when to retreat, another important thing is not exposing yourself 2 much

If you recorded a demo of yourself playing, I would be able to give you more specific advice, but a first thing you can do is trying aiming by Raziel (or better aiming by BossHK since he addresses the 'point and shoot' kind of aiming too, not only tracking is important)

If you can control your mouse moves and you still lose, then it's a matter of bad tactics, slow reaction times (check it at www.humanbenchmark.com or similar site), or maybe you just have to learn some fighting techniques (proper use of crouching, etc.)

Configs are overrated but useful (10 times better? no way). Using 'easy' weapons is a matter of choice, I don't know if you wanna really improve or just get some frags, vaporizing yourself after killing 1 player will get you an even k/d ratio :P

this test measures your reaction time and distance from the target, and it has been discussed in several gaming forums

http://www.draebenst...n/reaction.html

I think it's a proof that you also need to learn other things, since every player has the same reaction time they had when they started (you can't train reaction times), so obviously knowledge of the game is an important factor, but if you see that you have awful reflexes, maybe you need to address that, or if you see your reacdtion time is ok, try to focus more on tactics and what you actually do in game.

have fun

without getting into a whole list of things you can do, all the above points are valid and useful. but the simplest and easiest way on learning how to get better at this game, like anything else, is practice. start off by making it simple and practice techniques, your timing, teamwork, your aim (even the crosshair you use), etc. even anticipating what the enemy will do next can be learned.

each class you play (engineer, medic, soldier, etc.) has their own specific advantages and disadvantages, so learning how be good at each can be difficult in itself. choose what you're best at or most comfortable with and try to be as good as you can at that class. it's easy to get frustrated at trying to be a good medic when your team is dying all around you.

and one of the most useful tips you can get - watch others. spec their moves and the way the fight, especially the better players with higher k/ds. sometimes you can learn a lot just by watching better players. strafing, jumping, ambushing the enemy, will help you by watching and learning. then practice some more.

g/l :)

You can learn a lot just specing some good players with good movement and aim for a map or 2.
