No marty no lag server (Killbox)

Im sure im not the only one who is sad that Killbox server is empty all the time. The only option i could think of is to disable PB on Killbox again to get it populated.

 

Personally, i dont mind being called when im playing another game to ban those dirty cheater but we lost a few regular admins on CoD4 lately, IKILLCAMPER (didnt see him in weeks), Uncasid (hes there but not as often as few weeks ago), Lady *Raevyn* (probably just because of the trip), Caulk and a few others.

 

Im glad to have Ghost almost avaible at all time to be called <3, KrayZie , Gubbi, Chuckun, GI-JOE, AJ , docwarren , Theo, mAdArA*.

 

And of course, Joker, always avaible in the days, come on the server in no time, ban hackers after getting good demo while always being serious and respectfull to everybody (why so serious?), i really tip my hat to Joker's awesome work and collaboration on this.

 

But yeah back to the topic, i would vote to get PB off Killbox to get it populated again (and maybe a new map rotation while your at it if not busy obviously).

I just got back from vacation. Taking a break from CoD to help get ET Jay2 going strong again. Next month will be coming back on to CoD more frequently.

"No Marty" has always been "my" server. It was the server I started on and played on constantly. Its population has been extremely low.

The last time there was more than 10 players on the server was around the 20th of July.

The move was hard on the server, most of the regulars moved over and were extremely happy with the server. I was friends with many of the regulars and was starting to figure out some of their routines and when they would be coming online.

The "lagging" issues were fixed. Players pings were lower, there was no more in game crashes. Of course we lost some in the move, mainly the players that just "dropped" in. Once players stopped coming on during "peak" times (these varied day-to-day) the serve population started to die.

With lower population players started to head over to beginners. I also started to play on beginners, I hate hardcore.

I pop into No Marty every so often to check. I monitor the server on game tracker waiting for some more people to join to get a match going but they usually just leave once they see that the server is dead.

I think it would be beneficial for the server if PB was down to get the population back up.

I have noticed that on beginners there is an in-game binds running advertising the server, I think this would help out a bit. Another tactic to use is to invite some players to go over and to have a smaller match. I found this worked before the serve population died out. It help to give a temporary boost to the population. Many regulars enjoy helping F|A admins and enjoy playing with us.

If we could get No Marty to being a vibrant server again I would be extremely happy. I still support F|A with my time and money and hope the best for the community as a whole.

I know that Uncasid has been pretty busy lately. So that is probably why he hasn't been on much. Plus he is also trying to help out with the FA MC server.

I agree with everyone above. Once PB is down, Just tell me when to be on and I'll be on no Marty for a few hours. I think we have enough No Marty Regulars in our ranks that we could get ppl interested again if we all played at once on No Marty. Given it may take several matches over several days to build the the fan base again, but totally worth it.

Whenever I go on the server, there's never anyone on... do you think we can get a gaming night set up for people who used to play on the server but now can't because it's always a ghost town?

Plus, I got into a trial admin position but I don't have ANY more commands on the server, and when I say !admintest or !checkadmin or whatever it is it just says I'm a Player.

Couldn't we set up a one day marathon for the server and advertise it here on the site as well as in the other servers. Once you get people to visit for that full day of fun and in a hopefully loaded server you'll pick up several if not many new regulars. The last time we did this I downloaded a switcher just so I could play on the 1.7 Euro server to help out. It was fun, but I really think you need a strong FA presence there in order to lead by example. That is the only thing that disappointed me with the last all day marathon was many of the FA members that play COD 4 were still in their regular servers. I expected to see at least a dozen FA members, but the times I was there it seemed there were only 4 to 6 in at any one time. Either way it was fun and helped bring some life to the server. I still go over there from time to time because of it. Oh and they did turn off the PB for that event too.

Absolutely agree that a marathon day would have an impact.  If we're talking about doing this soon, I can support, but can't host this one due to my wife being pregnant.  Her due date was on the 3rd of Aug...aka yesterday, but we're still waiting for her to give birth.  If we did it on say the 17th, I should be able to organize it, but may be on and off the server throughout the day. We don't want to wait too long I think cause anything is better then zero ppl playing on the server.  Besides, it may take a few sessions to get this server going again.

- Ensure all FA members know how to use the patch selector.

I'd be in, Wiz & Myself were able to get a 4v4 going pretty quickly a few minutes ago.

 

PB needs to be off, it kicked a good amount of people while were there.

haha, yeah, i am still there for sure, mostly in the am . but yes, work has been crazy and sucking up a lot of my time, not to mention that it is climbing season... haha

PB should be enabled if you have at least 6 members online. other players will join immediatly if they see other players. help them to update their PB or tell them they have to visit the forum if they are kicked by PB. People will stay at our servers if they are registered on forum and if they got help.

 

 

@ darketch: rl comes first, especially in this case . maybe you and me can change some ideas for the (maybe) coming gaming night.

Killbox won't take much to get back up and running. Unfortunately my play time has really reduced right now. With school and work it's tough for me to play consistantly. Those who can need to camp it and not get too frustrated with only a few players at a time. Turning PB off will help tremendously. Y'all are doing a great job of kicking / banning on beginners so I don't see why it would be a problem to turn it off. (didn't really want to suggest much since I'm not around much right now) There have been plenty of people looking for a non hardcore server while I've been playing beginners. If we advertise and suggest to use killbox for more advanced play it'll pick back up.
