/gh.o.st Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) The server is very dead and there are bunch of issues that need to be worked out but no one to fix them I think that we need to add at least 2 people as OPS to fix all the issues and problems. These 2 people need to have knowledge of how a server works, plugins, and minecraft. Also the other thing is that they need to be online and reachable at anytime or most of the time and willing to fix problems with out complaining about it. With 2 people as OP there is a more likelihood of one person online to fix these problems at anytime. Nominate who you want my recommendation would be uncasid or myself (fell bad recommending myself but ive been working with servers and im online a lot and willing to fix problems without complaining) oh yeah and here is my proof we where at rank 725 now we are at 927 Edited July 31, 2012 by FA ghost Quote

Frick Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I felt as well that some issues on the MC server weren't being fixed in good time, I ended up wandering back to my server for a while just to play with the snapshots and do some testing. But at the same time I don't see much of a point in putting that much work into it now when the 1.3 release is coming out anytime now and will add many things that do not currently exist in 1.2.5. It will probably be around a week after the release that Craftbukkit will catch up with the changes so I have been doing other projects while chomping on the bit waiting for the release. I don't think there is much reason for alarm... yet... as I/We wait for the programmers to finish the job. Edit: This is based on the opinion that when 1.3 comes out, a brand new world would be created. Quote
uncasid Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 i dont think the new map will be 1.3. there are too many updates that will need to be doen toget bukkit + mods to current version. my guess is we will sit at 1.2.5 for the next map though.. we could set the server to 1.3 and just goof off! and when bukkit for 1.3 is ready, we could reset the map Quote

Doobie Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 well right now none of the plugins are going to be working. Plots are working fine there is just an issue with the signs not doing what they are spose to do after a few days of being created. (was never able to figure out what was causing the issue) Which is why we are going to start a new world forgoing those plugins so this wont be an issue. nothing will be buyable players will be able to protect their own areas with a plugin called factions, which also will let you create your own guild in MC and set up areas in the map that will be protected against anyone that isnt in your zone. There are still a few way to bypass this however I will work on tweeking the config once snapshot has a stable version for the 1.3 update. Right now the server is just running the minecraft_server.jar from minecraft.net Bukkit isnt running right now. Mobs are set to not spawn which is why you see them then they dissapear. there are some isues with the release still and I am just waiting and hoping that a stable version will be set up here in a couple days. Other than that I have no idea what other issues you are talking about. and keep in mind that when we were at 725. we were offline, which allowed cracked versions to play on the server as well. and of course caused havoc on the server after some numb skulls screwed around with it. Right now with the setup with the standard MC jar I'm honestly not willing a see no reason to give another op since you can then have the power to shut off the server from the client side. Once CB comes out with their release i will again spend at least a day tweeking the configs and getting everything working proper.
