Jay4 to Silent Mod

I imagined a FA silent hardcore server of 40-50 players, one guy using arty in the middle of the battle and get a rampage of 10 teammates kill by airsupport strike. Another guy using panser, he shoot and hit 1 enemy and 5 teammates. Flamer killing himself, 1 enemy and 5 teammates. Massive hardcore

I gave my vote to support the transformation into silent server and to answer the question asked by Krauer: No, I haven't played on Jay4 by now because it is Jaymod and I can't stand it.

But as I pretty much enjoy silent mod and have faced the point of "Server is full" a lot of times during peak hours I'd like to the another silent server from F|A around and if that one's to be another europe (Germany?) server I'll love that.

 

So Chuckun already got the point stated above: It doesn't really matter if we'd played on Jay4 before, it's about that we'd like to see another silent server that won't redirect us to HC the second you wanna hop onto it.

 

Though you should keep in mind that this is not about getting a new server, but changing an existing one - just like shutting down Jay4 and starting a new silEnT server. It might not be overly populated, but it has its regulars and has been running for quite a while already.

No, I'm not losing that point here, Krauer. But in fact - as it seems to me - the population on silent is growing a lot lately and it's a pity getting the redirect for HC like every time when you want to join the server but you cant. On the other hand - that's a point I also understand - the regulars on Jay4 actually might be pissed if the server gets transformed into silent though.

I personally would love to have a silent server of our own close to my location (compared to the running US server) because I should be able to get pings there I'm known form NQ1.

But in the end this is all about the pros and cons and I only can throw my 2 cents in the bowl.

Nobody who is regular on Jay4 will not play on a Silent Server , including me.

A part of them will play on the other jaymod servers , servers already full , and the other part will be goone forever coz they cant face the good players from this 3 servers.

Is to bad coz on Jay4 are not admins playing all day and teams sometimes are far from even because there is nobody to ballance them and when I (or somebody else) want to go on the other team for ballance , we cant because of bots what is +1 allmost all time on the team with less real players.

Jay4 become very popular and sometimes I saw there 40 real players (rarely but is hapening)

What regulars from Jay4 wants is some regular admins who can manage the teams.

Finaly when Jay4 will be transformed in a Silent one , I realy want to see how manny of the people who vote YES will play there and if this people care about , or think about of the people who already play on Jay4.

We want admins there , not to go away.

For me and some players is easy to play on Jay123 , coz some of us are good enough and like chalenges , but others?

And those OTHERS are to manny.

I Understanding why you do not want to change the server?

 

Am a player of Jay 4. See it as Manowar.

 

Where Jay 4 was offline the players on Jay 2 or 3 came and set there. Many players are rather beginners and do not come on the mass of players Clearly. Meanwhile to plays on Jay 4 good players and frequent Admins. Spyher, Gubbi & Co make here job if you are there. Can not always be there and then the team balance is mostly problematic. The bad players hop the good player after or one plays versus 6. Nevertheless, this should not be rather the sense?!?

 

I play for 2 reasons on Jay 4.

1: Clear - not So completely

2: no quick shot

 

I would still have 2 proposals

 

1: Can one make pure instead of Battery or Fueldump of dear Warbell? Warbell is only one example.

2: The Rushen irritates Can one not protect the objective in one a barrier inserts? If this had already seen on another server. One could steal only 10 minutes before Mapende the objective or planned

We have a process for both of your suggestion:

1, Find the topic in download section, click on support topic and tell which server you would like to see the map on.

2, Use our ET support section for such change-suggestions.

I suggest we change to the silent mods. Its has more feaures than Jaymod.

 

Since the existing silent servers are getting full and popular we can redirect players if both existing silent servers are full.

 

But there is also risk that regulars might not visit the server. Maybe we could avoid that by retaining the current jaymod settings after changing.

Now that this topic has been revived i can add my 2 cents.I have spent some time on Jay4 mostly letiing my daughter play against bots while I supervise her(shes 10 and I dont let her play anything online wothout me sitting with her) I have noticed that the Jay 4 community is growing and there are many regulars including members. As has been said earlier in this thread there are many new to ET players who cut thier teeth on Jay4 because of the settings and ofc its easier to learn the game playing against bots. I agree that 99% of these players will not like Silent Mod. Silent is a more "mature mod" as far as gameplay, feel, and settings. Further more if these players are forced to jay 1-3 they will get assraped by all the skilled players and probably not come back to our servers. Thats one side of it. On the other as a "clan" server a desicion has to be made based on whats best for FA such as the general need for more Silents slots as HC and Silent are always packed during peak times and the fact that PB is gone and Silend mod has built in Cheat detection(as far as I understand), The third point and what i think the bottom line is $upport for the servers "those who pay get the last say"

Thanks for the feedback and voting. We might open new Euro silent server if we have enough donations but looking at present donation meter on forums, it doesn't seem like it. We will try to add it if we can..
