Raider-
This may of been covered already but I'm not sure, didn't see a topic in the first 2 pages. www.brinkthegame.com Release date: May 17th for PC, Xbox, PS3 I'm so looking forward to this game, it comes out in 7 weeks and couldn't be happier that the people that made wolfenstein: enemy territory "Splash Damage" are the ones leading the development along with the help of Bestheda studios who made the fallout series. The game looks so badass and well balanced as their goal was to keep the game fun and away from the too realistic scene (example- one shot snipers, explosives, instead grenades bounce you around). I could go on for hours why I think this game will become better than enemy territory but I'll leave you with the links for you to decide. Watch the media stuff at their site, some of it is amazing. Below is a link to see the pre-order packages however to get to the pre-order links visit the brink website and one the tabs has pre-order information http://bethblog.com/index.php/2010/08/17/brink-pre-order-bonuses-announced/ I've already pre-ordered from steam allowing me to get the recon bonus pack once it's installed. My reasoning for steam digital download instead of a hardcopy is that other pre-orders via (best-buy "fallout bonus" , Walmart "spec ops bonus", Amazon "Psycho bonus") all have to be shipped in which they don't leave their warehouses until the release date so you get a copy possibly a week after it is released. Now Gamestop you can pre-order and get the "doom bonus" but I just liked the spec op more and the luxury of having the game right at midnight to download as I will probably be asleep for work in the morning, I can just have it download over night. This is one the better interviews I've seen and allows you to see some more gameplay Edited March 29, 2011 by Raider-

Raider-
Ya Team Fortress was the first game I thought of upon seeing this but what I like about this game over TF2 is that it goes into far more depth on the customization side and balancing. In brink you can change your appearance in depth from the body size (small medium large) which affects your HP, Movement speed and what you can get over, and what weapons you can use. The small can only use things as big as pistols and smgs, but can parkour across the map getting to places fast, and the large can use the heavy weapons. Also each size type can play any of classes so if you want to play a large medic so that you have say a gatlin gun or rapid grenade launcher you can. I can already see rapid grenade launching medic being useful as you spam some shots into the enemy to bounce them around as you heal your team and let them finish them off. Also almost every part of the appearance can be customized such as skin color, clothing from head to toe, tattoos, etc. Also the weapons can have 5 attachments (pending location on weapon) to make them fit to your play style which I love because COD only allowed you to have 2 attachments which I thought was stupid since special op forces in real time fix their guns up however they may like, if they want a red dot along with a grenade launcher, extended mag, and a grip they will have it on their. What kind of cheap ass black op forces you sending out to kill treyarc? They have many balances to a lot of the things that make multi-players boring and frustrating, and here are a few from what I've read up on that are implemented in the creation of the game to keep it as fun as possible. 1 shot kills: no 1 shot kill snipers, explosives, etc. Basically explosives are made to knock you around more so than to instantly kill you, AWESOME because this will require more skill instead of cheap campers who want easy kills. Rambo Knifing: I hate it, and so does brink, such as the COD lightweight+commando where u can get to almost anyone and 1 shot them with an easy knife. Brink balanced this by making each body top move at different speeds, different hp, and have different damage for their melee strikes. For example a small guy who moves fast can't just come up and 1 shot a big guy with a melee strike, instead he would have to hit them 2-3 times making them alot more vulnerable to gunfire. And since big guys move slow they most likely can't get to the little guys so when they melee them they can kill them in single blows. I find this fair because if the little guy runs circles around the big then he should have to hit him alot more. Top players and rewards are based off xp gain in which doing objectives and helping teammates will outweigh gunfire domination alone. Not saying this is the cure for ramboing, but I'm sure it will make people more team and objective oriented than ET pubs usually are as they will level up much quicker and gain access to newer items and gear. Ability to be revived- just like ET except you can toss the needle to the downed teammate so they can revive them self when they want to (self-injected once passed from medic). I feel like a lot of games make it too hard to revive teammates in combat via battlefield but this will make it as necessary and possible to revive as ET did. And I hate how call of duty went with the aspect of reviving with last stand pro. I don't think you should be able to shoot once you got your ass whooped, it is just another lame thing that pisses you off when you beat someone and they get a cheap kill by instantly falling to ground and are able to shoot a fully loaded pistol that they didn't have in the first place... Glad how Brink turned out with this system AI bots used in brink are said to be made very well. The game will always be 8v8 when players leave a bot will replace until another player joins, keeping the battle as fair as possible. The bots are also said to have better AI than most games as they will try and use strategy against you in the fact that they will flank you and realize which paths are good and not good to go. Don't you hate the boring et bots that run same directions every single spawn and will be easy kills, and then all the sudden one will 180 snap and triple you, I'm sure ready for the newer AI technology. From several youtube videos and reviews people who played Brink had a hard time in fights determining if they were fighting a bot or player because the bots were so finely tuned. Theres a lot more to the game that I feel will help keep the multiplayer extremely competitive, fun, and balanced such as damage coefficients and accuracy and lethality of each weapon but that would be best experienced through gameplay first. I just hope this game really takes off, it would be nice to see another game be as competitive and fun as ET once was. Every game since hasn't had the fun factor along with the team competitive side to it. I hope they allow for both dedicated servers as well as their queue option that they offer. It would also be nice to see if they allow for the community to be as involved as they were in W:ET in terms of modding, mapping, etc but I don't see how that is possible if they host all the servers. I'm sure there will be custom mods, but not to the extent as an open source.

Brisk
Anyone happens to know minimum specs for this or even a rough estimate? Minimum System Requirements OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Memory: 2 Gb Hard Drive: 8 Gb free Video Memory: 512 Mb Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 / ATI Radeon HD 2900 Sound Card: DirectX Compatible DirectX: 9.0c Keyboard Mouse Recommended System Requirements OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 Processor: Intel Core i5 @ 2.66 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.0 GHz Memory: 3 Gb Hard Drive: 8 Gb free Video Memory: 1 Gb Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850 Sound Card: DirectX Compatible DirectX: 9.0c Keyboard Mouse Not too horrible. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not pre-ordering it. I'll wait and see what the verdict is on day 2 amongst the competitive players on IRC. If it seems like it'll have competitive legs, I'll be right there with at least a couple other old RtCW teammates. Edit: Perhaps move this thread into the big ole'Brink section? Saizou
/Moved. Hobbit already posted the minimum spec in the other thread (there are at least 3 threads going around on forums about Brink atm). Thanks anyway

Well..seeing as how my machine can run it at at least the medium settings I'll probably end up picking this game up....Which is good because I love Bethesda, I always lose like a year of my life to their games..
