GIJOE Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Ok I have had my kids XBOX fixed and fixed and fixed. Still happens any suggestions. Thanks
ZeeKoh Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 http://www.squidoo.c...ng-of-death-fix Basically... probaby get a new one.
General Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 what the HECK are ur kids doing???? I've had my xbox for 3 years. Not a single red ring except for a power outage one time. They better not keep it on carpet and give it enough space to air out.
ZeeKoh Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Microsoft is full of fail. They're only in it for the money. X-Box 360 launch was full of fail too. There were reports of systems actually catching fire.
General Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 ZeeKoh thats a load of junk and you know. Its just that people have done stupid things like buying used systems in bad condition or bought from walmart then complained. mine is refurbished, and has had not a single error since 3 years ago. Though BC2 didnt run well on it, technically i guess this was an error, but BC2 sometimes crashed my xbox if i remember right
ZeeKoh Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 It isn't junk at all man. Read through that link I posted. Because of Microsoft's money grubbing tactics, they created a faulty system. There was a massive recall on almost all 360 consoles at launch. It was all over the news and everything.
General Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) But anyway, we should be paying atention to GIJOE, who needs our help. Not sure what to say Joe, a new system costs A LOT but might be necessary. edit---------- now i see ur link. Edited February 8, 2011 by General
ZeeKoh Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Even if he repairs the one he has it would still end up suffering the same problem after a while. I think the best solution would definitely be getting a new one. You could also look into selling that one. People often buy 360's with the Red Ring to repair them and sell them to make some money. Just make sure you mention it in the description.
SkyeDarkhawk Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 For more information, please visit this link and diagnose your Xbox 360's red ring condition. It may be an easy fix such as removing the heatsinks, cleaning all contact points, and replacing the thermal paste. Also, some places offer repair services such as BlueRaven that can fix your console for approximately 120 USD, around 80 USD less than a new system.
General Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 skye you sound like a company's receptionist haha!
Corey Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Ok I have had my kids XBOX fixed and fixed and fixed. Still happens any suggestions. Thanks well if Microsoft is still willing to fix it for free if its under the warranty then just keep doing that to save money. I sent mine back after it red ringed and i haven't had any problems with it yet.
FiveMagic Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 well if Microsoft is still willing to fix it for free if its under the warranty then just keep doing that to save money. I sent mine back after it red ringed and i haven't had any problems with it yet. My 360 died last week ( No 360 or Game laptop now, WTF!) and it was 3 years over it's warrenty and they are repairing it for free (They're sending me sticker now, this is the second time mine died and it to was repaired after warrenty expired lol.)
Corey Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 ya I'm sure they are a little lenient about that since they had so many problems. Once they stop fixing it for free its time to buy a new one The new ones have been redone and have built in wifi now and shouldn't red ring.
Krayzie Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Easy solution:Click this You pay for what you get. So much better, never had an issue with it, and it does SO much more.
Don't_Fire Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 the last few people that had this issue that i know was for one reason on all of them they needed cleaned out and new thermal paste put on the cpu and they have worked great for them since this. its not a had fix but you have to do it just right or you could mess it up more lol anyway if your not comfortable taking it apart and getting it back together just right then don't do it but if you plan on a new one and want to try it out first to see if you can do it then go for it... thermal paste is like 5 or 10 bucks and then the tools to take it aprt on ebay are pretty cheap so its worth a shot
