I try my best but I just can't get a break on F|A servers, all the FA guys seem to play like Gods.  Someone said that they all use scripts, and that everyone uses scripts, wow, I didn't know that till yesterday.  I could do with some scripts to help me, but I can't find any with a fast sideways strafe script.  I'm really fed up of getting murdered.

Are you new to the game?? No one is using scripts, but almost all of us who have played this game not only use custom CFG's, but over time we've tweaked them to what works best for us. If people play like "Gods", it's because they play often and have honed their skills. Practice, practice, practice and spec the players that seem the most Godly to see what they do

a modified config cfg isnt gonna make u good . and scripts most of em out there are to hard to getused too . like hip said u must be new. too et.

 

there isnt a straff script that works good. its called  hit a an d alot.  i did notice u saying on server  that its obvious fa guys use  scripts . well most are against rules. an ones that arent is becuz theres no real advantage to using them. but if your looking to get better at et. ask anything ud like  .im sure we have the answers. by the way i have never used scripts in et  to hard to get used too. i do modify my cfg . tho so my et runs flawless . on my pc. this does make a big diff. 

 

like i said in your other topic.  upload ur cfg to forums and  your pc specs .  and we can go off this to help ur game experience improve. et is kinda like chess its a mental game as well. know what the enemies gonna do before they do it . and what moves to counter them.

Actually one of your members said that they all used scripts, and was backed up by others.  But maybe he meant configs, anyway I am trying out a config atm, and will see how that goes, and also try to pick up some tips from guys on the servers.  Thanks for your help.

if u dl someone elses cfg . u must go in change a few things or else it could make your game play laggy and worse.  plz up load cfg and pc specs this is the easiest way . i never dl sumone elses config. i make my own. it is better. they ment .. config . not scripts.  everyone uses a config. it was me who said it game wont work with out it.

 

cap your fps.  53 76 125 143 are magic numbers.

 

clear up your view  no blood splatter   ..

 

widen your view  cg_fov  depends on your monitor but i use 112 or 117

 

learn to hold your mouse at head level all the time. there are sum settings for tthis if changed correctly will help. 

 

learn to use your compass and your minimap to see enemies before they see u.

 

understand player movements  how to  counter a straf .  how to react  if they jump or go prone.  hitboxes move .....

 

an also learn to understand bullet spread.

Well there are some scripts in cfg for example. Fov scripts, rate changers sensitive changers, name hangers etc. I never saw an strafe script, would be easier to use the software of your gaming kb to create an macro. New players love the sprint and shoot script. Anyway all this scripts don't gives you any advantage. If u need any help feel free to ask

In ET situation changes - Macro's are mid rookies who are not pro's yet. Based on scenario take action and once you trigger macro it wouldn't end and if something happens in between, you are practically screwed. 

 

My suggestion - have binds Ex: While shooting my gun is enabled but when I turn to grenade, medic packets, etc it's all disabled.

This game is too old for "hide" secrets...so here are some tips:

 

Some hardware de you need:

 

-A good screen (at least 144 hz), or 165 hz

-A simple GPU (graphic card), no need expensive (i suggest rx 550 or nvidia 1060), it is enough

-This combination will show you the FPS (frames per seconds) is giving you the GPU (for example 165) , you will see in the screen (if you got a screen of 165 hz). This is important for see the enemy before him to you .

 

In the file autoexec.cfg (or in console every time you will play) you can write this:

 

-/m_pitch 0.016 (helps for try to get more headshots, so the crosshair will not move faster up and down). Maybe in jay you can use 0.017 (because in silent for example the enemy doesnt move faster than jay)

-/m_yaw 0.019 (i thinks default yaw 0.022 moves a lot and i suggest you to reduce a bit)

-reduce the speed of your mouse in the mouse settings (i have in number 3)

-Use 800 x 600 or 640 x 480 in your screen (combined with a good GPU, if you reduce your resolution, you will increase speed and effectivity)

 

that´s all, the rest is practice imo

Save your stamina for when  you get in a fight. Most people use it all just to run out of spawn and then when they get in a duel they strafe slowly. When those people face players that have learned to conserve their stamina, they just look like they move faster than normal and it's because they do, they use stamina.

@InternomadFor future reference,  if you run into players in game that blame things on "scripts" you can guarantee they have no idea what that word even means and can also disregard any future complaints they'll surely make as they'll be equally as ridiculous.

 

The game is like 16 years old and a large sum of the players that are still around are here because they love it and can't find a better game... 16 years is a looooong time for a person to get good at something.
