Funny fact - I think it was somewhere in Africa (probably not just there) they apparently use pineapple when cooking beef stews as it contains some enzyme which helps to break meat so it cooks much faster then classical stews, almost "a la minute". (you can try to put small slice of fresh pineapple under your top lip, it gets pretty nasty soon ) Afaik its common thing in brazil to tenderize second quality meat. (Cant tell if african origin🤷) I tried it once and i cant recommend it. The meat develops its own flavour which i thought is odd. Tenderize with Ananas For less tender meat pieces i personaly prefer to slowly process the meat at low temperatures as the texans in a bbq fashion.
