Today I decided to try moving my shooting button (+attack) from MOUSE1 to SPACE.

Learning to shoot by pressing SPACE was easier than expected but, to make it all work, I had to move jump and crouch to MOUSE1 and MOUSE2 and that has severely borked my movement reflexes. Otherwise I run a fairly ordinary layout with WASD for movement and SHIFT for sprint.

Is anyone else currently using or has tried using spacebar or another keyboard key to shoot?

mouse2 - back
z - moveleft
x - moveright
CTRL - crouch
c - shoot
space - jump

I tried this a really long time ago to see if it would help get rid of any aiming interference caused by pressing any mouse buttons while trying to track, didn't work.  Thumb just isn't coordinated enough for fine trigger control and timing along with the long keypress of spacebar or any key as compared to mouse's triggers.

I've not moved my +attack/trigger button but i have moved my alt fire to V on my fang. I moved it about 10 years ago as i had an issue with NQ where i couldn't have reload and alt fire on right mouse button for some reason, got used to it so never moved it back.

when i use my Silent 1 Mortar cfg, i use N and mouse 1 as fire, and m for map,... so when my arms feel tired and aiming is going to nowhere, i get lazy and set up my pipe at my own spawn and try to supress the enemys spawn with my shells... having a key instead of the mouse will keep the aim absolutely steady.

Mortar is a very tactical and trigonometrical weapon and cant be played on every map, or anyone,... i saw guys who just couldt figure out the laws of this amazing weapon.

I did try rendels Cfg lately and was wondered how unique it was... i never saw such stuff with spawnbinds, echos, and other things before, that could be very helpfull, but it just couldn´t adopt to it...

I loved the graphics setup, it was a bit better than mine, but i also dont want to compare every single code from it... maybee i will when i have some spare time.

I haven't moved the fire key, but I do use right click to jump and space to crouch, with mouse wheel click for alt fire. My thumb just sits naturally on the space bar, and pressing C repeatedly to crouch gives me a painful wrist after a while. Right click was also set to jump in the original RtCW which is where I picked up the habit.
