Skills/xp transfer

Hello, i buyed new pc and i want to transfer xp etc stuff from my old pc to new one.. Im tried to copy the etkey from old pc.. it did not work. Copied whole etmain folder from old to new. didnt work. Anybody here who knows how i can transfer them ??

I tried helping him yesterday. He said he copied the etkey over etc. but his GUIDs were still different.

2.60b or legacy?

A mod that uses ETKey (ETpro, NQ, Jaymod) or silent.dat (err, silent mod)?

Ok in that case easiest way is to uninstall any version you currently have on your new PC and simply copy over the entire wolfenstein enemy territory folder from your old PC to your new one (you can put it anywhere but i suggest simply put it into C:\ and place a shortcut on your desktop).

Then use pbsrv to install PB as it should be (i know PB is dead in ET but will save any kicks for an incomplete ET install).

 

PBsrv.exe can be found http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/

 

Should all work fine but let us know either way.

I have used that method since my first ET installation on a Windows XP machine.  It has gone through three machines under four Operating Systems.

 

I have set ET to compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 SP3 , under Windows 10.  That could be a problem, too.

 

ADDED:  Snuffs99 says below that, "There is no need to run as WinXP compat mode any more but does needs to be run as Admin." and I found that to be very true.

I have done what you wish with my new PC.

I Installed a fresh version of 2.60b.

I copied my etkey from my old PC.

I copied my silent.dat file from my old silent folder.

All was fine (i had my level and my XP)

 

Later 2.60b was crashing about every 2-3 maps.

So installed ETL on my new PC.

I copied again my GUIDs from 2.60b to ETL.

Again, all was fine (i still had my level and my XP).

Tbh i dont think you need to run pbsrv.exe any more as it no longer supports ET but i still do as in the past you used to get kicked without PB being installed.....stuck in my ways on that front i think so just do it. lol

Hello from long time. now i have time to play/solve this problem, i tried to do that what u said, but still 0xp and no levels. what i will do next ... ?

Hmm it can only be either user error or the etfolder your copying over is an older windows install and does not contain the etkey that is linked to you on the server.

Look here on your OLD PC

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Punkbuster\ET\etmain

 

If there is an etkey there then that is your problem, copy that etkey it to etmain.

I  just searched from my old computer ''Etkey'' and did find another same name file. Now its works. (the real et key was on other hard drive) dunno why, but now its working. Thanks a lot for help !
