American liberties in jeapordy!

I don't know about the rest of you, but im sick and tired of our rights and liberties being taken away one at a time slowly so the majority of clueless people dont notice.

Point #1

The war on terror

If theres ever an easy way to distract the attention from our rigjts its to say "we need to be more secure, and that means we have to give up rights like privacy and the 4th ammendment." This is bullshit. I believe the original Afghan media confirmation of Osama Bin Ladens death at Tora Bora on Dec 15th, 2001. Now, ask yourself... how can our government keep troops in this region? Set up claims that Bin Laden is alive and well? I def feel more secure knowing our military forces are spread around the world...everywhere but here... wtf.

The war on terror is a war that will never cease to be. As long as we have enemies and/or people that hate us for living free... the war on terror will never end. Which brings us to...

Point #2

The National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2012

(The NDAA)

The ndaa is nothing new. Its passed every year. But this one is special. Not only doea it crush some of our most important constitutional rights, it gives the government the right to treason. In yhe hidden new legialation that you would have to sit down and read to find (which takes about 2 hours) it clearly states that anyone, or group, of people that are deemed a threat to national security can and will be indefinatly detained without trial. No due process. Until the end of hostilities....bringing us back to point #1. A war on terrorism. A hostility that will never end. Do the math there.

So lets put this into perspective for any skeptics or people that want to understand.

Lets say you take part in a peaceful occupation protest. Now, lets say it gets big and out of hand. Not violent. Just too big for law enforcement to possibly handle. Not only does the ndaa also grant the use of military force alongside of law enforcement, it grants the secretary of state the sole authority in deeming ppl or groups a threat. So, if youre there, and any single person there is suspected and deemed a threat. They can haul them and everyone else with them (or anyone with the same ideas) off to a detention center without trial. No questions. Kinda like guantanemo bay.

Can you imagine when the military rolls through your town arresting people for exercising out right to protest our government?

Not to mention the TSA! We'll hit that later though.

Point #3

The crooks

Not only is our president an american hating criminal, so are the rest of your law makers and judges. And police are crooked as well. And the few that arent... well they are easily amd simply blacked out. Remember an idea is more powerful than an action. These are the crooks that drive luxury cars andplay golf on our tabs. Good note: Obama has played well over 100 rounds of golf in his first term so far. And the lavish millions of TAXPAYER dollars he spent on his crazy vacations. And before the critics hit me with "look at all the weeks bush took vacation!!!" Yes he did. Im not saying hes a saint. But when he took vacations he went to his ranch in texas and cut wood and did shit. He didnt goto marthas vineyard and hawaii. These are the people who want to take your rights away and make your dependent on them for every aspect of your life. Tax tax SPEND!!!! Trillions.... trillions we are in debt. And guys like obama and his regieme want to install a socialist healthcare system that is mandated! And by the way its cost is double what he said it would be. Hey just tack some more on there a**h****.

Ive read the constitution and i saw no section where it states government is responsible for healthcare.

Point #4

WAKE UP!!!!

People need to wake up and realize what is happening in america right now! You need to stand as one and do not give in to the divided debated about political parties. Thats why they were created. To divide us. Do not rely on mainstream media for ANY information. Please find a reliable online source. Mainstreamedia is controlled by those that want to fool you and take your rights away and make you a slave citizen. Remember once theae rights are taken away its next to impossible to get them back without a full on rebellion. A revolution....now thats an idea.

Keep up with reliable information and read into localgroups that want to fight for this cause. We have the ability. Do not let them take away your rights!

while I cant agree with everything you're saying, I definately agree with your point #2

The problem is that they can amend basically anything with crap that doesn't even fit in with what they are trying to pass

NDAA authorizes the military, there's no reason for them to add in crap like the indefinite detention and req for mil custody.

It sucks but if he didn't approve it, people like me might not have gotten paid. No military pay means a very disgruntled military.

Hope they pass a repeal on section 1021 of the NDAA, I know some people were trying to push it.

Apathy has crippled people our age. I'd love to see the numbers on how many of us vote.

American "liberties" were usurped the day American's decided they needed to be Governed. WE are all slaves to the world bank. Used as chattle for politicians to borrow against. Raising taxes is unpoplular so, what to do? Borrow. Borrow borrow borrow and borrow against the debt. We sold our grandchildren to the banks. The fiat currency we use the the reserve currency for the world!!! Think you own your car? Don't pay your property tax and see who really owns it. Cops at your door? Try telling them you have 4th amendment rights and see how fast you stand on your feet. Get a gun and stock plenty of ammo. The only freedoms you really have is over how you leave this world. I'm gonna leave with an empty gun.

Every other first world nation has some sort of single payer health care system/social medicine. The rest of the world just assumes that Americans don't care they're letting themselves get ripped off by private sector health care. Americans would have paid less if social medicine was introduced when every other nation was releasing their variation of it. The constitution is not infallible, infact its out of date...

point number 2 is a good point but everything else is riddled with fallacies and rhetorical nonsense. While it would be a good idea for America to lessen it presence in Afghanistan, leaveing would only expidite a resurgance of a Taliban lead government. Osama Bin Laden wasnt confirmed dead in 2001 btw he was rumored to be dead, but when one of the most powerful nations invades the country you live in, doesn't it make sense that he was roumored to be dead? But you're right, Americans are giving up all their rights under the guise of security. Nobody is to blame other than American people and corporations though. Every person has a vote and every corporation can donate UNLIMITED FUNDS to any candidate or party they choose (the big issue, or at least it should be)...

The west is about to fall on its knees prey to the giant we call china, and it's about time... The military industrial complex has bankrupted the USA of all their money, dignity and trust. It's to late man....

P.S. Obama is from Hawaii and Bush is from Texas.... Why would Obama vacation on a ranch in Texas? xD

They are in the Middle East because of Oil. Which if you haven't noticed, its a pretty important resource in the world today. Screw terrorists, they have always been here and will always be here.

I have to chime in on the healthcare issue. Every country that I know of where medicine is socialized also has a private medical system. Basically the rich people that can afford the private healthcare get the best care. Everyone thinks it is free, but it is not, you pay for it one way or another. In fact, you pay whether you use it or not; you pay for it in higher taxes. Usually the government keeps costs down by limiting access to diagnostic studies and treatment that requires specialized equipment. "Mr. Johnson, I am sorry to tell you this but you have cancer. You have 6 months to live, but the good news is the mobile cancer treatment center will make its next stop in 9 months; we can start your treatment then" I was at Shriner's hostpital for with my son while he was recovering from surgery and a lady and her son were in the next bed. We asked her where she was from and she said, "Canada." We asked her why she came to Oregon for suregery when they have free healthcare in Canada. She told us the they her son needed some x-rays and an MRI before he could have surgery. She went on to tell us that is was a 3 hour round trip to the nearest imaging center. She got an appointment in 3 weeks for the x-ray and then she could come back 6 months later for the MRI, then they could schedule the surgery. She said if she came down to Oregon she could get it all done in one weekend. Since her son was accepted as a Shriner's patient it was still free for her. Sorry to run on so long, but this is one of my soar spots and I think people need to realize their healthcare will not be free, but it will decrease in quality.

Imglad to see opinions. And there must have been a typo with the obama texas vacation.

Theyve just gotten too big and too powerful. But whats gonna be spectacular is when it starts effecting everyone and not just certain groups. And when the filthy rich have to run and hide. When a few million people refuse to pay any more and dare them to come collect lol i hope it happens in my time.

Nothing personal beedub. But I also had an experience with canada. I was 6 years old when me and my family camped in canada. I fell in a campfire on one night and suffered severe burns all over my body. My skin was hanging from my arms. The doctors in canada quickly took me in and cared for me. Thanks to their care, my skin is back to normal, i only have slight scarring on my hand and arm, and when we looked for the bill. They said no thanks, that the care was free and the doctors called every pharmacy along our trip to make sure my pain meds were there. It was tremendous care and for free.

I was also a portland shriners patient. They give tremendously good care at that childrens hospital. However It's also a non-profit childrens hospital that runs on donations. All kids accepted their have pretty much free health care with little competition. To say that this place is a good example of how US health care works would not be a good comparison.

Wait times can get bad in canada. But paying for a surgery with private health insurance can get pretty bad too. There are people who get refused treatment or specialists because they can't afford it. Public health care and basic private health care is about the same quality in my opinion. The rich will always get the best doctors, but no sytem will affect that. But I will say this about the US system, and that is that bad health always means good business.
