lol I don't know why in many shooting tutorials they say 'shoot in bursts'... honestly I have never seen top players doing that, but maybe their aim is so good that they frag enemies very fast and they don't worry about spread...

 

Maybe they should say: 'release your mouse button if you see you are obviously off target'

...but releasing the button while you track? lol? Why not tapping 'C' for a fraction of a second then, and your weapon spread is low again.

I expect you're used to playing with xpsave on. With higher levels in light weapons, as well as covert ops, your spread is greatly reduced. Because of that, you can do things like short crouches to reduce your gun spray. Without xp however, crouching is often not enough to reduce your bullet spread enough to compensate for long-term firing. Another benefit of burst firing is that if you are proficient at dodging then you can let the other person run through their clip while you have ammo remaining, and you can finish them off as they reload or switch weapons.

I am not used to xp, but I'm getting used to it...

 

Now I play almost only jaymod xpsave, but in the past I played only etpro, many times with xp totally disabled (pub servers with xp off, and some scrims), and I never played with xpsave of course. So I wasn't talking about jaymod with level 5 light weapons and almost no spread.

 

When I say I see nobody doing it, I talk about ettv games and players much better than I used to be when I played etpro, let alone now that I am low-.

 

Any decent player doesn't even use half a clip to kill another good player, and if he does, he dies. So I guess the chance of taking advantage of their reload (or rather their weapon switch, since they don't reload) is very slim...

 

 

Of course I don't fire if I see that my aim is totally off, maybe that is what you mean by 'burst', no idea.

And of course if I play rifle I don't need to crouch to reduce spread, because rifle spread is always max. I crouch just to lower my bodybox.
