In Goldrush as axis if you aim it at the first door and keep spraying it.. hardly a enemy will have the ball to cross the fire..

 

 

bad idea...I always shoot my rnade at the door and bounce it around the edge at anyone camping on the other side.

 

A spot i use it on is definately when capturing the old city. Yes I know a rnade can drop in, nade dropped etc etc etc...

 

but the main point is to 'deter' the attack long enough to get your team to spawn there. Now if a fieldops is willing to feed ya...you can hold the button down

you do that, and i will kill you X times in a row by tossing a primed grenade from around the corner at you. i don't think standing still and advertising your position like that is a good strategy =p

 

Well I forgot to point out that flamer can deflect on walls and on the ground.. which means that you don't have to expose you self that much

so i'll bet those X times on the row are actually X/2 times on the row

i never use flamer its kind of an advantage and annoying and so is panza but u should use mortar,im a beginner usin it but it can b quite fun too

Is there anyone around who is truly a master of the trade with using the flamethrower? Does anyone use this as his or her weapon of choice?

 

I don't use it often, but it can be quite fun, and quite the impediment to the enemy.

I'm pretty good with flamethrower. Usually get a couple holy shits in a good day with it. Flamer is definitely best for tight spaces and small rooms, like many spawn points. Many people try to just aim at individual people in this situation: bad idea. In small rooms when surrounded by the enemy, stand still and shoot in circles. You might think that just one shot into each might not be so bad. However, in this small room, if anyone moves, they just run into more of your flame. Definitely not a preferred weapon for long-distance maps though. Really useful in spawn points like *gold rush*, marrakech, warbell and, if you can get there, Venice.

I love watching people with flamethrowers. I seriously 'LOL' when I see people with flamethrowers jumping into a battle situations and shooting the flames everywhere. I don't know why I find it so funny..

Spiffytexan, I will slap you in real life if you continue to spawnkill us on goldrush with your flamer... Shooting us from the rooftops with a flamer? Really? Do you know how hot that would get in real life, what with the heat rising up to meet you and all? I'ma slap you! You can consider this e-bullying or whatever they call it!

Well i use the flamethrower quite a bit. Over here in australia, flames are famous for two reasons. The unfortunate bushfires during the summer, and of course, BARBEQUES! So i guess i get my experience from that =]

Yeah, I've noticed you like teh flame. I feel a small sense of accomplishment when I take you down with me though

 

Unfortunately my teammates sometimes crowd around me, which I hate, but you obviously enjoy. If someone's going ahead of me into a possible ambush hiding area (especially a dark corner where you like to spew flame from), I like to stay some distance behind them, because then I can see the ambush and ambush the ambusher

 

Sadly this tactic usually sacrifices one or more of my comrades. All in the game I suppose ;-)

flamethrower is onley for small maps good you can run threw the enemys base and kill all but in big maps your often get killed too fast by an sniper or sth.

but of course in a small map its fun pure

ive never been that good with the flamethrower because i am never given the opportunity to kill large groups, and when the enemy sees that blue flame they shoot while walking backwards, when jumping at them it slows you down because your being knocked back by each bullet hit. that being said ive never had much luck finding a suitable position because some people are just too smart to realize if they use their hearing, they can hear the flame weapons gas hitting the fire, all they need is a nade or molo and the way is cleared.

 

im not too convinced the firewall is good enough, i never retreat if i know that your intent is to disablize the defense, il just sit their and if i get hit i will take you with me but i always aim in the direction at the flames lower funnel.

no if the enemys spawn and your over the spawn jump down they will be confused and you can kill them all if not and them see u jumd and run is the best thing u can do
