Platinum VIP Kooki Posted February 17, 2018 Platinum VIP Posted February 17, 2018 You all know i always stick my nose where its not supposed to be and sometimes seem to make things worse.. for which i apologize. There is an old saying that says, sticks and stones may break my bones but your words will never hurt me. Im seeing some increase in drama lately . I think the sticks and stones thing applies in these situations. Also the Golden rule, not the one that says the one who has the gold makes the rules. Although thats true too.. Treat others like you wanna be treated. if you do that then everyone will get along and there will be no drama, or hurt feelings, misunderstandings, mutes, kick outs, bans or anything. It only takes just a second to hold the tongue. Bible teaches that the tongue is the most unruley organ there is, see if that isnt true. We say things that hurt each other with out even thinking about it and the other person might stay hurt for weeks or possibly even years. So lets all try to keep our unruley tongues where they are supposed to be and get along w/o hurting someone or making them mad. Heck if we have a hard time doing this in a game then what will happen in the real world. Try that with your boss and see what that gets you. Perhaps i need to worry about keeping my nose outta everyone's business. W 2 Quote
Chuckun Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I get mixed messages from this post but overall I think we are on the same page. I don't agree with letting people say shit without doing anything to fix it (which would fall under the sticks and stones ideology) but I definitely do agree with people biting their tongue if they don't have anything nice to say. Pointless drama when this is supposed to be a recreational group enjoying some gaming.. 2 Quote
audrey Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me. That's the expression!! Anyway, I thought a lot about "treat as you wanna be treated" and I swear to gods, I hope to always have people around me willing to slap me good or at least say "wtf don't act like that don't do/say this or that, you're coming out this or that way" etc. If all the people only said something when they have something nice to say, there would be no progress. Like take what you get, process it, remain humble, learn. 5 Quote

I think I got a little excited just by reading your response Perhaps not entirely generalizible to this particular situation, Morgan Freeman discussed how to get rid of racism in many a situation. Stop giving attention to the gap that is, because even the "awareness" stuff just makes people realize once again there is a gap and thus reinforces that idea. If you feel there is drama, stop talking about drama. There's quite some truth in "do not feed the trolls"! 2 Quote
Senior Member Vindstot Posted February 21, 2018 Senior Member Posted February 21, 2018 I always try to treat people around me (in real life) in a way that is a mixture of these two: how I want to be treated and (what I think) they deserve to be treated. I also advice that don't let random internet people make you feel bad or angry by their shitty insults, try to ignore them, and you will see, your life will get slightly better. There is almost never any point in trying to convince these people that they are not right or simply make them stop it (but you can try to make the world (or just the server ) a slightly better place by showing them what they are doing, provided, you have the patience and knowledge) But I also have to agree with those who say that it shouldnt be allowed for everyone to throw any degrading insult anytime at anyone. People are sadly not perfect and rules are needed (my opinion) 1 Quote
