This is a trickjump thread, not a "did fullbeat or halfbeat come first" thread. The man uploaded a good halfbeat video. I'm sure your old school knowledge is great, so why don't you take the time to upload a fullbeat video or actually contribute something meaningful to the conversation rather than taking the backseat saying stuff like "Halfbeat? Ew. That's newgen jumping!" If anything YOU are the one coming off as a **** about it, whether you were joking about it or not. I cant TJ for shit, I always splat the ground but then I never learned HOW to TJ I just saw roughly what others were doing.. This is some serious manhunting you're doing at me now >.> if you've taken offense somewhere I apologize, but it would be nice if you don't take a comment so far out of its context.. Not the cleanest fb, but it's similar (very much so) to my own jumping. It helps me to race for the objective in maps like oasis, where the allies flag is very far from the anti tank guns ^^ /e I kind of used to halfbeat/fullbeat mix in mid-jump because my mouse is set at a low sens I can't make every turn well without mixing. Achilles90 Posted February 22, 2018 Author Share Posted February 22, 2018 Having randomly rewatched it the other day I realize that I have made a mistake in my rendering of the radar jump video I made and I have to redo it and reupload it because the quality is terrible. Having put out a new video today the size of this video has forced me to go with the same quality. It seems I am reaching the limits of the capacity of this computer and I wont be capable of much more than this level of quality, currently. If this is even sustainable. That all being said I figured I should go into, a little, how I am making these videos. The truly old fashioned way. My computer just doesn't have the power to play and run obs unfortunately. So I record ingame demos all the time, no big deal. However in order to turn that into an actual video is interesting to say the least. ET has an avi recorder built in, how does it work you ask? It takes 20 screen shots per second and put them all in a folder in sequence. That's 20, 4 MB .tga's per second of footage. For smoother footage and better fps you record and 50% speed at 20 fps so you can play it back at 40 fps So every video is like between 1 and 40 GB raw data. I think I should mention that capturing those screenshots actually makes the computer playback that video WAY slower than 50% speed XD I then use quake movie maker to string the photos together into footage, chop out the stuff I don't need. Render. Compress. Upload This is one of my favorite gamma maps because it's fairly well balanced for noobs like me. Just_Jump_3_b2I'm jumping full beat because I never got better than trash at half beat. I'm not ideological about it at all. I have respect for both sides. I will say that I love watching FB jumpers because it's rare and hard and it's what I do so I can learn from those better than me. Genuinely though: I would rather watch any good map performed by a half beat jumper. It's just much more satisfying to watch I thought it was something wrong when I first noticed it but a quirk of the recording engine that isn't in gameplay is that when you hit like 1200 or 1200 ups: your fov starts to expand. You'll see in the video above. The guns start to get skinny and then it all zooms back in when you slow back down. I've been dealing with all in one capture programs because of how much of a pain it is to cl_avidemo for quick clips. As for the FOV issue. Delete all the files out of your ETJump directory except for demos, profiles, screenshots and then don't play on ETc's server, it's the one that causes the issue. If you do play there just repeat the process and connect somewhere else to dl a non faulty ETJump before capturing again.
