Bit of a strange question,

Somebody donated a laptop with this software installed, it's somekind of recovery software

what pops up during boot. Any knows how to get rit of it or uninstall it?

Don't want to wipe the HD yet because the laptop still has a valid windows installation.

Cheers all

Never heard of it, but can't you just disable it from starting in Task Manager then uninstall with WIndows uninstaller or Revo Uninstaller??

Pull the windows key off the HD then wipe and reinstall a new

Hmmm, does this progam comes with its own harddrive partition, which is set to boot first in bios? If so I would remove that partition (start--> run --> diskmgmt.msc) and change the boot sequence.

Couldn't find a lot on the internets, but it appears this software was already outdated/missing information in 2009.

Ahhh, Angel Recovery. Lot's of OEMs used it. My guess is that the machine isn't booting into Windows? Or can you boot into Windows, and it's just the "You should not alter this partition" pop-up appearing?

Regardless, I wouldn't be too hasty about removing the recovery partition since it will have the OE SLIC key baked into the installation image.
(Computers that come with Windows preinstalled actually have two keys. The one on the outside of the case is different than the one that's baked into the installation. Pro tip: You can reuse the pre-installed key on the same mobo, the one on the outside of the case can be used on any machine- though you'll need to call their activation number, online will fail)

Xernicus is correct.  That software was the precursor to the hidden partition re-installation program that is common today.  You should be able to find the key combination that will load the

rebuild software and re-install Windows to a factory default.  Use the name of the product and factory reset to find it on the net.  It will be something like <ctrl+r> or something like that.
