Aniky
Im looking to upgrade my old ass monitor into something more fancy, big and faster, annoys the fact that my PC cant ultilize completely as the monitor holds it back, so i guess its time to get something with same quality as PC is. Was looking quite some into the "Zowie Gaming LED monitor XL2411Z", but after some more reviews from users, a lot are having complains about horrible colors and so on, which kind of confuses me, considering monitor costs 300€ and doesn't provide proper experience that one would expect in that price range. So I would like to hear some of the feedback for gaming perspective and movie watching, as to whats the best price/performance ratio monitor out there, that has 1ms response time and 144hz as per minimum, price till around 300-400€ i would say. Xernicus
From a gaming and movie perspective, "true" color isn't probably what most are looking for. They're looking for vibrant colors (think HDR), bright whites, and deep shadows (tech term: wide color gamut). What color corrected monitors are for is photography, graphic arts, cinematography... anything going to print or professional work. So if they're just gaming- they probably have no clue what they're talking about. What else, a person can buy a color calibration system for only $100 and "fix" this problem if they need to. So they're blowing smoke out their ass.But here's what I can say:Based on photos, I can also see that the pixel density isn't very high. This is probably a term you hear a lot with smartphones and perhaps "retina" Macs. I'd go so far to say that if you're a foot away from this monitor- you'll start seeing individual pixels. What else, I see several photos showing vertical lines in the monitor- a sign of poor soldering and quality control.I also see that Zowie (at least the monitor division) are owned or produced by Benq. I've dealt with Benq monitors- my boss ordered an entire pallet for the office before. They've all failed. Every. Single. One. So you're looking for a (max) 3-400 euro gaming monitor with a 1ms response time and a 144hz refresh rate. What type of input (DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) would you like?Does your graphics card support G or Freesync? Owned
Currently using an Asus VG248QE, so far it has been a great monitor, and has settings that you can change easily to adapt the color scheme for different games / watching movies. its around 300 euro and 144hz / 1ms.

Does your graphics card support G or Freesync? Having Nvidia 970, so a G-Sync would kind of benefit the end using experience. As for the type of input, after reading some articles, mostly prefered option is DVI/DIsplayPort for ultilizing 144hz monitors. Currently using an Asus VG248QE, so far it has been a great monitor, and has settings that you can change easily to adapt the color scheme for different games / watching movies. its around 300 euro and 144hz / 1ms. Checking your choice of monitor, i see that its praised as one of the best monitor in the 1920x1080 resolution and 144hz, i do wonder since it doesnt support G-sync, would there even be visible difference with or without it ? Haruhi Suzumiya
I'm also running the Asus VG248QE (and I think Pipel? and BSM as well) with no complaints. Yes I've seen better color settings for movie use but we're talking gaming and that's why I got it. The little you lose in movie quality is greatly overpowered by the gain in gaming quality. If you're a handyman the parts to mod it to use g-sync might still be available. I originally bought the monitor with that in mind but never got around to it. I've heard a lot of good things about the BenQ that is the VG248QE's equal. Forget it's exact name but it has almost the same specs with the added black light reduction.

From BenQ, its XL2411Z thats pretty much equal to yours, been reading so much reviews in the last hour and banging my head as to what to buy, seems that even in this price range, every TN pannel has flaws with colors, i just wonder if its really such a big problem from day to day use or re people just overreacting that much. Aniky
Checking this one compared to Asus and some others, since Acer has a G-sync as well, its a plus at the end selection https://www.monitornerds.com/acer-predator-xb241h-review/ Annoying as hell to select one and order from the list. BSM
I gotta say, I am very satisfied with my Asus VG248QE. I was surprised at how close it felt to my old Compaq 120hz CRT, definitely recommend it. Some complain about the colors, but I don't think those people have really delved into all of the different options that the monitor has to offer. Depending on your graphics card, you could come up with some really good looking profiles.
Aniky
Seems im gonna go with this at the end: https://www.monitornerds.com/acer-predator-xb241h-review/ After reading some more and comparing this Acer against the Asus u guys are using, apparently Acer comes more praised compared to Asus and with the G-sync included, for a mere 100€+, its gonna serve me hopefully for long time to come.
