U can also try this if other mods working. Go in silent folder and delete (or remove to in other location) all pk3 files. Then reconnect to silent and let it reload missing pk3 files. For me it needed 3 times to kill et process cause it was freezing in after each 2 files loading, but finally after those restart et and it worked okay.

maybe try removing silent folder .. and redownload it from server again.

Just a quick note, if you delete everything in your silent folder, make sure to copy the file "silent.dat" to your desktop beforehand.
It's what holds your SilEnT GUID. If you lose that, you'll lose your XP and levels.

A good practice would actually be to copy both your "etkey" file located in the etmain folder, and your "silent.dat" file located in the silent folder, and either email it to yourself and/or upload them into a safe storage space like an external hard drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, Box, etc.

Was surprised that you forgot to mention him this detail (but so much important) in reading your previous post.. :D but yeah I know, could have fixed this in my own post.. but while writting I forgot me too. :P

I will probably try this. Can you just tell me how I can access the PK3 files to delete them? I am not very technical unfortunately...

To start, you're going to go (back) to your silent folder located in your Program Files (x86) directory- the path is at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\silent".

You should be able to then use the search bar that's next to the path, and type *.pk3 - all of the pk3 files located in your silent directory will come up. Then just press Ctrl+A to select all, and delete them. :)

I get the same thing in the Insurgency hardcore server. Well the equivalent of it rather. What I have to do is exit game and come back in. Normally takes care of it

If it´s located in Program Files folder, then Windows might "think" with some update that accessing files in Program Files folder is forbidden. That might cause issues. I moved(cut+paste) my ET folder out to C:\, works better this way.

mine thing is dont delete silent folder... just delete sertain files there :)

Guys -

nothing has worked :(

I have tried re-installing pk3 files, and it has not worked. I tried downloading 2.60b, and that also hasn't worked.

Am I doing something wrong? Are there ANY other options?

Are there ANY other options?

yes.. everything from scratch.. Make a backup of your config file, your etkey file and your silent.dat file. Once done uninstall the game with Revo Uninstaller. After have uninstalled the game run CCleaner and proceed a "basic" cleaning and a "registry" cleaning. Reboot.. Re-install the game with this ET installer if it wasn't the case before. Once ET installed, put a copy of your backup files back in the proper places. Right-click on et.exe, select Properties, Compatibility tab, and there tick the Admin rights box.. Apply and then OK.

config-->ETmain and\or mode(s) folder(s)

etkey--->ETmain

Silent.dat-->Silent folder

Team,

I am back online and able to play.

However:

1.) I lost all my XP

2.) I lost all my configs

3.) I lost my levels.....

Is there any chance to get these back? :-/ I did what Annibol said and put those 2 folders back where they belong, and it still made me create a new username.

I'm scared to touch anything because i'm happy to be back online.....

and it still made me create a new username.

if by new username you mean the one that will be used to create your profile sub-folder then it's normal.

For the rest, make sure like I told you previously to put:

- your backup of etkey in your etmain folder

- your backup of silent.dat in your silent folder

- and your backup of config in ETmain\Silent folder(s)

Once all this done open you console and type \exec + the name of your config. If needed apply also this command: \vid_restart

Silent.dat guid should restore your levels without hassle if you run ET as administrator. You can check if the correct GUID is present with \sil_guid command(do NOT post the result here).

It could be more hassle with ETKEY but Chuckun wrote a good tutorial: https://fearless-assassins.com/tutorials/article/200-how-to-get-a-new-etkey-guid-since-pb-dropped-et-support/

You might need to run those commmands in jaymod\nq: "/pb_cl_enable; pb_system 1; pb_writecfg; reconnect;"

Also keep the old Silent.dat and ETKEY for all times, do NOT delete them from your backup.
