I don't know if you know this but when you get hit during shooting, only your crosshair goes off balance, gun is still shooting straight, therefore you shouldn't try to adjust your aim to the crosshair positioning at that exact moment. Just keep shooting and then do a correction once crosshair goes back to it's original position. I can't explain it better, just need to develop a feeling for it. There is more about it online, I read some time ago.

If I stand in front of you and shoot you, you will move backwards from the shot. It's the same when someone hits you with a knife. It's multiplied when hit with a heavy weapon, obviously. Meet me on Jay 1 and I'll show you. If your crosshair goes off balance, which is moving, your shots follow your crosshairs, but this wasn't the point of my post. Just something funny/not funny that I added to it.

The point is watching day after day, map after map, as the same stronger players consistently avoid playing on the weaker team. They make the team they're on stronger, true, but allowing those players to almost always group together on the same team is stacking. And the funny part, the two (probable) most skilled, Blest (Messhuggah) and Nightmare, are the only two who don't do this.

Funny, but not at the same time.

It's annoying and seemingly obvious. You get hit, your aim is off when those rounds are hitting you. Certain people, while getting hit, they spin and fire back with perfect accuracy.

They also dodge a lot of bullets because they move on the sides. If you take too much damage, try hiding for a bit, although not always easy.

Yeah, I have heard the same theory before but I'm not 100% sure that is actually true. Some time ago me and @Johnwick did some testing in jay1. The test was as follows: Me and John were in opposite teams. I crouched and started shooting (full auto) at a wall. After about 15 rounds or so, John started shooting me from the right side, while I was still shooting at the wall. When we later inspected the marks on the wall - the first ~ 15 rounds were grouped together,  and hit where I was aiming, but the later rounds were left of target area and much more spread out. Meaning that enemy bullets will knock your aim off target and increase your spread. Feel free to do your own testing, I am very interested what kind of results will you get.

This is what I'm saying. Getting hit affects your aim. So why are there people whose aim is not affected by getting hit?? It's not every player, obviously. Most are as you'd expect. If you get the first few hits - other than direct headshots - it's very hard for them to volley back with accuracy. But some take the hits and turn, aim, and strike with deadly accuracy. How else if not a script of some kind?

Imagine if there was a bullet spread added ;)

This is a full clip fired continuously while standing still and aiming at the flag of the construction pile for the tank barrier. I moved over to the side after to show the full spread. As you can see only a few shots actually hit.

This is because they use crouch which resets your spread

This is not new information (for me at least). The only way of hitting smth while standing up, is top tap-tap-tap. Full-auto is basically useless.

Well it kind of is new.
What I showed is a custom mod it’s not like that in et at all. The spread is way way tighter than this.

Well test it yourself join Jay1 then do

/devmap Oasis
/set sv_cheats 1
/set cg_railtrailtime 20000
/set g_debugbullets 1

You can now see spread just like Shoresy posted record your results then join Jay2 and repeat the above commands.

Server Jaymod cvars exist that can change how bullet spread works in jaymod.

Ive attached the Jaymod configuration PDF for better reference to how the mod works over all

Revisiting this.

What really gets me is when I get yelled at for something that is a basic rule that a banner flashes on Jay one constantly: "We will reward those who help keep teams even" (paraphrased)

The top players on the server are on the same team here, Cloudy, Schwens, Raider and this new Zampedri guy who is very accurate. All four had over 40 kills and less than 20 deaths at the time I took this screenshot. Bond had a very good KDA here as well. No one on Axis had that KDA. Allies had over 100 more kills than Axis.

MOST of the map, that team had 2-3 more players than the Axis.

That team rolled the previous map in 12 minutes, and on this one, Teuthonia had both gold cases in less than 15 minutes.

@RedBaird was on for a few seconds and saw that Allies had 2+ players and said "because of the number of players, teams were fine". They were NOT fine.

Axis could barely get out of spawn without getting slammed.

The KDA ratio for Allies was far superior to Axis.

How am I wrong here?? And why do I constantly get yelled at for doing what regulars and admins are supposed to be doing?? Calling to even teams, and anyone can pay attention, and they'll see when I see teams are off and I'm on the heavy team, I try to be the first one to move. It's something I take pride in.

(Not sure why the accuracy screen popped up. Probably because I was holding CTRL-F11)

10 years later and nothing has changed. I learned that it seems like some of FA have favorite players and those never get moved, doesn't matter how uneven the scores are.

Could you provide an example of this? While I notice it’s common place to move some players that may be more even tempered and understand balance and avoid moving players that throw temper tantrums. However who and when seems to be at the sole discretion of the admin. The only actionable item would be if admin was abusing the move to target a specific player. If this is the case we have a form  and forum for this I'm happy to provide you a link to
