You cant even try one egg? :P fill a third of the kettle with water then put the egg in so it doesnt crack :P

I think I can do it only if I lay the kettle almost horizontally and gently let the egg roll to the bottom. I will give it a try since I love eating eggs :P

Thanks. May not work the first time as it might differ with different kettles that have different boiling times. So use your common sense when timing. :P What i put is a guideline more than an instruction :)

Mine is about 2000 watts. It's written on a tiny sticker at the bottom. Do you know your kettle's wattage ?

I checked. I have 2. Both are 1700W.

Good. Theres obviously going to be some people that already do this but it isnt the common way of boiling an egg. They use a pan or a basin and a cooker.

Does everyone buy their kettles from the low powered kettle shop . . . normally dont see one that is below 3kw unless its a tiny travel one.

I think ill stick with a pan - I am lazy, dont want to have to mess around washing the kettle so it can do its real job.

Might give it a try if i get around to buying a cheap lower powered kettle some time though just to see.

Could you please add that if the egg floats when submerged in water, then it is a bad egg and should not be consumed.

If you suspect an egg in the refrigerator has been boiled but don't know, spin it,if it wobbles it's not a boiled egg
