Transform demos of ET in avi Online

I'm not typing anything in the console. I just play the demo and hit a key according to the chosen FPS (F1 to F5 if I remember well).

 

Then yes  Those keys are bound to different cl_avidemo values.

I'm not sure what type of video you're trying to make but 1000 shots will still allow you to capture 33 seconds of video at 30 fps.   You'll just have to move the files from the screen shot folder after you've captured 33 seconds of video.  You'll wanna do this anyway or you'll just be all sorts of lost when you go to compress them.

 

There's always different screen capturing programs and I think some specific to the q3 engine or ET if you choose to go that route but I haven't used them myself.

Thanks to Lenovo's link, I won't have to deal with those thousands of pesky TGAs anymore. Good riddance ! I'll let the dedicated video server do the conversion and encoding

Finally got one rendered.  My first one was denied due to my naming abilities,  guess they prefer accurate descriptions over jibbersh ^^, and also because they didn't have the map.  The moderators will find the map if it happens but I just went ahead and picked one from the popular map Supply Depot to hopefully not run into this again... It also failed because they didn't have the map but it was taken care of and finally finished.

 

I picked 1920x1080 @ 30fps because I saw lenovo had chosen the other available option to those who haven't donated to compare.  Higher res and fps are available if you donate to the cause.

 

I also ran into the problem he described of some "premium" users deciding to dump their entire demo folders to be rendered, they get first dibs.  Luckily they'll do let you go after 4 or 5 of them are finished.

 

Here's how it turned out.  I would have chosen some better content if I wasn't worried about the map... but here's like 10 minutes of camping supply's 2nd axis spawn  Only real complain is the config they use.  Crosshair pulse and blood splatter are annoying creatures.

If You press F4 while viewing a demo recording in Enemy Territory,  "screenshots" folder will be filled with

 

pictures...JPEG or TGA, I forget which.  You could use Quake 3 Movie Maker to combine Them into a movie.

 

But the game sound is not included.  I use Dxtory to capture while playing a demo, Then use Windows Movie Maker

 

to convert to MP4(HD) for YouTube.
