Leader RedBaird Posted March 8, 2016 Leader Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) You didn't actually have to "enter codes" to make DOS work! Not codes as in "programming", that is. CompuServe, Prodigy, and "ugh", American Online. My, how the experienced Internet users HATED the newby AOLers when the Web was opened up to the public. That sounds like kids in the 50s asking their Dads, "you actually had to hand-crank the engine to start your car?" That's not sexist as few women had the strength to do so. It was also considered gentlemanly to risk getting the broken arm. Edited March 8, 2016 by RedBaird 40s->50s 1 Quote

-=HipKat=- Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 What killed me was no idea of what DOS is, yet some of those kids probably know Linux........... The interviewer should have just said Dos = Linux lite You didn't actually have to "enter codes" to make DOS work! Not codes as in "programming", that is. Just as when you ask about tape recorder, or walkman... Geez, we ain't granpas, but... with those kinds of reactions, we do appear old now... :/ 1 Quote
