A lot of dutch people indeed. But we are world citizens :) Right..

 

I am not Frisian, but I sail a lot in Friesland or frisland. Dunno the english translation of the provence :)

K, I'm inactive here  (well, apart from occasional lurking), but want to make sure this get noted:

 

French fries = 'frieten' in Dutch, anybody who claims it's 'patat' is a bloody liar

 

 

That's all, back to lurker status.

Friet is a word only used in flanders and the bottom 3 provinces of the Netherlands, the rest generally uses patat, also saying that patat means potato is something that is only correct in these parts of belgium and the netherlands.

Well i was last week in Groningen. There is the normal Dutch language but they speak a 'dialect'. That is words changeing

 

English: Mouse. Dutch: muis. Groningen: moezn

English: rat Dutch: rat. Groningen: rattn

 

Not easy to follow that languae. I like that not :(

No, but i have family there. In Hogezand-Sappermeer. I'm from Achterberg. You?

 

Every year we have a family bbq with all the family people. Very nice. We eat, drink beer and make everyone happy :D

Ohh really :). Nice language but the dialect is difficult. I can't follow the words if they fast speaking ;)
