NoGooD
If I had time I'd be down to help you pick out parts to do a build. Building your own computer is pretty easy. That computer looks pretty decent. One thing I would look at is the power supply it comes with. I don't really know about Corsair PSU's (Power Supply Unit), but I have a feeling that the power supply it comes with probably won't get the job done..especially once it turns summer. I would stick with air cooling for the simple fact it's cheaper and does a pretty decent job if you have a decent case. The motherboard and vid card are w/e you prefer. I haven't researched PC parts for awhile so I'm out of the loop with the current stock of AMD & Intel chipsets. I would however see if you can find reviews on just those motherboards and see what type of problems people are having. I found some reviews here. I suggest looking at many reviews..both good and bad and see if there is a general theme to the complaints. People posting "Board sucks..didn't work, won't buy again" likely screwed up putting the board together. As for video card..if you are pushing a monitor over 22 inches...that should be sufficient. Just don't go with a card that had 512mb ram otherwise you'll likely wish you had paid a little extra. btw..your not studying graphic design or video editing in school are you? OR i do have a friend that can build comp, so if you can give me links on computer materials, it would be nice i will be buying this in summer i think I can give you links. I will tell you this much. That video card is total crap. You can buy that video card for $39.99 (buypower is a horrible rip off with their prices). So far I have helped build two budget gaming rigs (my friends and my own =D) and now I am doing a third for another friend (woot all 3 of us are working on it). Hold on let me get you a list of parts for yours (i am looking at the US sites) AMD Athlon™ II X4 620 + ASUS M4A79XTD Evo ATX AM3 790X DDR3 (supports crossfire) Package - $220.19 http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=45526&vpn=X4-620-M4A79XTD%20EVO&manufacture=Bundle%20Deals&promoid=1208 OCZ Z-SERIES 550W 80+ Silver Certified - $ 41.98 after $25 dollar mail in rebate http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=45235&promoid=1208&vpn=OCZZ550&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology OCZ 2x2GB DDR3-1333 CL 9-9-9-20 DUAL CHANNEL RAM - $70.68 after $25 dollar mail in rebate http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=42870&promoid=1208&vpn=OCZ3G1333LV4GK&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology Azza Helios 910 Black ATX (Best Case You can Possibly get for COOLING. A facking 230 mm fan and 4 120 mm fans) - $45.06 after $20 dollar mail in rebate http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=44542&promoid=1208&vpn=CSAZ-910&manufacture=AZZA%20Technology Palit GT 250 1 GB Video Card (way way way better than the shit they were trying to offer you) - $109.61 after $10 mail in rebate * Comes with 1 Game of your choice. Dark Void, Street Fighter 4 or RE 5* http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=46572&vpn=NE3TS25EFHD02&manufacture=Palit%20Microsystems&promoid=1208 Total after Rebates: $487.52 Total without Rebates: $567.52 This is just an example. NCIXUS is okay but also check Newegg since they can be cheaper than what I showed you. Much better than Buypower since you will get a ddr3 Mobo ASUS brand (best brand for motherboards), DDR3 ram, Best case for cooling (230 mm and 4 120 mm fans. You can't get anything better literally), and a video card 3 x more powerful than the shit they offer =D. Comes with a free game too XD. Also the buypower noname powersupplies can fry your motherboard (lots of computers have been destroyed this way). I looked at their site and the only good power supplies are $99 + unfortunately (20-40 dollars over the original price of those power supplies lol).. But to be realistic. You can get it even way way way cheaper than what I just told you. Go search your city (or nearby city) for some local computer shops. Many of them have their own website. Most will contend with neweggs prices or be even cheaper (some like NCIX have specials everyweek so prices alternate). This way you can save on the shipping costs. Also if you are buying in the summer, you can probably get all this and a HD 4870 or GTX 260 for the same price (prices drop fast when the cards get outdated). Desu
thats really realistic, sounds really good too. thanx onion. in the summer, few days before i buy i guess i will ask again if there is anything that their price went down.
Papito
Read onion's blog, he recently built a pretty good comp for like $600 canadian bucks. I think in real money thats around 500 bucks. Number1Dad
I bought a gaming laptop 5 years ago and I regret it fully. I needed a laptop for college so I figured why not just get everything I need in one machine? I was wrong. Gaming laptops are heavier than most textbooks, get way too hot, and don't perform nearly as well as a similarly priced desktop. I didn't have the luxury of being able to buy a netbook, which is what I would suggest anybody in the market today buy. A decent laptop will cost you at least $1000. I would suggest spending $600-$700 on a desktop then put the rest towards a netbook.

NoGooD
thats really realistic, sounds really good too. thanx onion. in the summer, few days before i buy i guess i will ask again if there is anything that their price went down. One things is for sure...by mid summer almost everything Onion listed will be cheaper. And like he said, keep an eye out for specials pertaining to shipping etc. On my last build I saved >$60 on shipping alone just because I bought from places that had free shipping. Newegg.com as well as NCIXUS.com will likely have some deals when it's time to buy..just start looking around. Sometimes it pays to buy say the case you decided to go with before the other components simply due to the fact it has free shipping. it really starts to add up. And as for netbooks........ I've only played around with the smaller models...which for what they are designed for they work great. If you do alot of word processing/presentations/movies or need a screen big enough for the person next to you to see what your doing I don't think I would suggest one. I would strongly suggest you try a few different models out for yourself though. My opinion is just that...my opinion. And for the liquid cooled mac....I have a Core2Duo macbookpro, and while I love it for many things and made my school life easier, I'd take Number1Dad's suggestions and just get a desktop/small laptop. You'll likely end up saving money over trying to buy a large laptop to do everything with.
JimboSlice75
If I were you, I'd purchase a desktop. You can get a desktop for $500 that has the same specs as a laptop that costs $700. Desktops are not only better value, but they have the room for a graphics card, whereas most laptops have integrated graphics. And like another replier mentioned, you can "pimp" your desktop when you need to, but with laptops, this is impossible.
GraveDigger
well..., i think that everyone agrees that you should buy a desktop comp.
