von Rantala Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) So only couple hour after i made my post in here, Dallas acquired Sharp from CHI and Chicago got Daley and Garbutt, so Dallas is not in my biggest losers list anymore, even that they trade they second best defender from last year to Chicago and it will even more emphasize need of veteran defender they have one of most promising defenders, but they really need some veterans there too, as Edmonton has show, talent not enough if there is no veterans. Yes they have veterans in goal and forwards lines, so they are little bit different situation than Edmonto has been. Trade of Sharp maybe bring playoff spot to them, maybe not, let see. I totally forgot Washington also, they got Williams and Oshie, so they are in bigger winners list also! Edited July 11, 2015 by von Rantala 1 Quote
meow Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 im posting here because Von wants me to. I'm lazy during summer, I'm still following everything about hockey though lol I think the Sharks did some good signing with Paul Martin and Joel Ward. I like that they got Martin Jones but he is still an unproven goalie. We'll see next season! 1 Quote
L3ftY. Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 the leafs blow chunks. they've blown chunks for several uncountable years now. like a ship without a rudder, they have no leadership on the ice. even though they are in a re-building phase again (for something like the last 15+ years???), they need to get rid of their captain Phaneuf for starters. he is not a leader, nor is a captain that stands up for his teammates. he is a mediocre defenseman at best for $7mil a year. yes they have a new coach in Babcock and a stronger front office, but spend some of the fans money on quality scorers and defensemen. they just signed Kadre to another year, who was on the verge of being sent to the minors - why? trade his butt for something, anything. one of many they should ship out. i sense another 15+ years of rebuilding in leaf nation... 1 Quote

Lefty i think you have great leader in group already, Leksa (Leo Komarov) is big leader, little bit different than normal Captains or what is saw in NHL, he is liked person in locker room, no he never will be best point man of team, but he is leader, you cant always name best point man to your leader, i think Toronto name Phaneuf to they captain because it was best player of the roster at that moment. Btw what is situation with Bernier? Gibson is promising goalie in AHL, and they still could use Reimer as trade to get good forward to group, Kapanen who you got from trade of Kessel is question mark, he is son of ex-flyears Sami Kapanen, but i dont think he never will be top 2 liner, i can be wrong ofc, when i havent see his game a lot. But Scott Harrington is solid defensive defender what your team need, but i was surprised how cheap they gave Kessel to pittsburgh. 1 Quote
von Rantala Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Look like Chris Stewart is going to Anaheim, im disappointed to hear that, i really liked him in those couple (20) game what he played to us, i really like it his attidute, im very sad if we not sign him, i know that we have spot open only for third line, but he would be perfect fit in there, we really need powerforward, we need player who can fight, now we dont have those kind players, i still think we should trade Coyle. But i hear rumors that Stewart can be bad player in locker room, but at least in wild his attidute was fine. Quote
von Rantala Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 Now dallas sign J. Oduya also, just when i list them to biggest losers of free agent market, they take Sharp from CHI and Sign Oduya from CHI, now they are in my eyes sure playoff team, because they have very good coatch behind bench too. They will go for playoff for sure, two solid goalies who would be number one goalie in most of teams, two goalie who both can win Vezina, and one of most talent defence line ups with addition of veteran what i waited to see and two great offincive line (after Sharp trade). Wow, again one more team from Central who could win Cup. Before last season i predict as some other members too that Central is most hardest division and now its even more harder when Colorado got couple key signations as Dallas too. I think Winnipeg drop out of playoffs and Colorado is very close call. But Central is even more dangerous division than last season. I think Nashville will be in close call too, let see, and St. Louis lost key part when they trade Oshie and lost Jackman, but they are still one of winner favorites, as is Wild too even that we didnt make any forward signations and only one defender signation, but we trust that our young players like Dumba, Granlund, Zucker, Coyle, Schroederer, Niederreiter, Reilly and Haula can take that next step. We put faith in our young players what can bring Cup to us or not. Only time well tell. Quote
von Rantala Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) WHAAAT, Ducks sign Kesler with salary hit of 6,875 are they serious, are they totally stupids? He is max of 5 milj player, his cureer is in decreasing now two year already. Or im just blind with him, he earn that contract in your mind? I think no, because Anaheim have to sign Vatanen after next year and they goalies, and because Kesler new contract they have to trade someone in future. He is overpayed player in my mind when new contract starts. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=774894 Edited July 16, 2015 by von Rantala Quote
von Rantala Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Wild still need more strenght to rosters, and there is couple player who im interested to see in our roster, one is Daniel Carcillo, or Michael Ryder, there is still good free agents who could help several teams like B.Boyes and M.Zidlicky, M.Roszival or Francson. I hope we would sign even one of those free defenders. Brewer would be help too, he could bring a lot experience. Maxim Lapierre i think would be best choise to us, he can fight he can play penalty kill, we lost our first and second penalty killers (Brodziak and Cooke) and we need help in that area now, and Lapierre would be perfect answer to all what we need in forwards lines. I will come to miss Brodziak he was one of my favorite players. Quote

von Rantala Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 you guys only have 3 millions cap space http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/MIN?year=2016 True, but if we got at least Lapierre i would be happy, he can be signed under 1 milj. and in my mind we should use Jared Spurgeon in trade. But im happy with our currect roster too, only miss that Brodziak for sure. Olli Jokinen is free too, and there is several free agents who will sign with some team before season start. Quote
von Rantala Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Lou is new GM of Toronto Maple Leafs http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=775410&navid=DL|NHL|home, i have to say that lol'ed when i saw that first time, i think Lou should enjoy his retiremend days, he is great GM one of best all time, but hey, if my Grandma who is almost same age say that i want to go work again, i would say "no way". This is crazy, why he just dont go and enjoy his pension. I think Toronto should have give that spot to someone new, maybe to Shanahan, ofc i think Shanahan still make most of choises and maybe Lou is just faces. Let see. He lead NJ like iron man, players didnt get chance to choose they own numbers when Lou was GM, when Lou always want that players use small numbers, and everyone has strict rules what to wear in gamedays and what car you can drive etc.. Let see if he can try get that same ideologia in Toronto too. Edited July 23, 2015 by von Rantala 2 Quote

von Rantala Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Quebec city (my city) and Las Vegas for an expansion??! Hell yeah, bring a team back to my city!!!! =] Yes both get my +1 vote There is enough star players for the 32 team but there is teams who should be moved too, teams who not event get 50% of hall occupance should be move to area where is more fans. I always think that its very wrong that Canada has so less teams, when every Canada team got over 85 occupance in games. There should be atleast 3 more team in Canada. Only minus is that i dont want lose anyone from my team except Coyle and Spurgeon and maybe Kuemper, its only minus on NHL addition, i will be super sad if Wild lose Koivu or Parise or Dubnyk or Brodin etc... I dont want to see them in any team in free. There should be some system what would be even to teams who are in NHL now and for those who come to NHL. Is there anyone who was following NHL when we got Wild and Columbus in NHL? How they did that addition? Quote
