AcidParadox Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Like the thread title says:I feel a big difference when playing ET and when i am on desktop regarding my mouse sensitivity. What do i have to do to have the same sensitivity on the game. Thanks Quote
Owned Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 go to your desktop, and click with the right mousebutton. Then select adapt to personal preferences (I think, i have my PC configured in Dutch) the last option in the bar and click that. Now you should end up on a screen with personal preferences, go to change mouse cursor on the left side, 3rd from the top. Click that and then you should get a screen where you can change your mouse sensitivity. 1 Quote
CheepHeep Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Right click ---> personalize ---> change mouse pointers ---> Pointer options ---> Adjust speed to your liking by moving the bar under the heading "select a pointer speed". Warning : Don't set it at the lowest. Took me ages to move the cursor to set it right again lawl... 3 Quote
Clan Friend SunLight Posted June 8, 2014 Clan Friend Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) You mean having the same speed you have on your desktop? Short answer: you can't. Long answer: In reality you can't because in ET the screen is not 'flat' but it's 3d, so things in the middle of the screen move with a different speed than the border, especially if you play with a high cg_fov if you want you can do this little nerd experiment (not necessary but interesting imho): 1. open a map with /devmap to enable all commands (for example /devmap goldrush) 2. pick engineer, and put a landmine on the ground 3. disable all your hud, with cg_draw2d 0 and disable world rendering with r_drawworld 0 (and no sky r_drawsky 0). If you are in an area without other entities you should see only the landmine now. Pick a negative sennsitivity, (e.g. your normal sens but with a minus in front) 4. you will now 'feel' as if that landmine is the mouse pointer, because with inverted sens you can move it like on the desktop, but you will see that the speed in the middle is not the same as in the borders 5. remember to put all back to normal especially if you are not good with configs ;p You can calculate with a formula a sens that is fairly similar to the one you have on your desktop but it's never perfect the amount of horizontal degrees you move in game is this: degrees = pixels_on_desktop * m_yaw * sensitivity m_yaw is by default 0.022 and you shouldn't change it because on etpro it's forced to that and there is no reason to change it anyway even if you don't play etpro. so deg = pixels * 0.022 * sens to get the same sens you need to move 1 pixel when you move 1 pixel on the desktop, but how many degrees is '1 pixel'? you could do resolution / cg_fov, but it would be an average anyway you can calculate it like this Edited June 8, 2014 by SunLight 4 Quote
