The v-key menu will have to be changed. You can download the file and play the *.wav files and see what the chat-text will be. In few words this file was posted here at the intend of the servers for now and need to be loaded first on a server to function for players. But, in waiting a possible and futur change, if you want to test some of these files like vsays(wav) on your own PC and hear at what they look like, this is possible with a simple music player. side note: in case your player doesn't handle wav format, I suggest you MPC-HC. I use it for years now because compatible with all kind of files (sounds, videos, music, movies,..), and is in my opinion the best for a free one. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Leader RedBaird Posted April 18, 2014 Leader Share Posted April 18, 2014 You can put this file on your computer, but it is the server that tells your ET client to play the sounds that are in the file. If the server's settings have not been changed to call for the sounds in this new file on your computer, then you will not hear them in ET. This file has the name ~~~~fearlessjaymodRC3.pk3, which is very similar to other FA ET ~~~.pk3 files. That DareDevil approved this file with this name for download tells me that FA probably plans to switch to this new sound-pak in the future. I was wrong about the v-key menu, as it seems to be included in the pk3 file. The file has a couple of other things, which I will not mention at this time. You can open pk3 files with winzip, follow the folder-tree inside and play the sound files without extracting them. Simply that if you are going to deny someone you give a reason...Of course I would prefer that to be a PM than a public event. Regarding this file. Mainly aimed at Blue, DL the PK3 and put it in your etmain folder. Start a local host game and run any map. The vsays will then be there for you to test / enjoy. You need to do /g_voicechatsallowed 99 I think that's the command I maybe wrong. Or your own PC will anti spam you.. Nothing that happens changes my outlook and I will always want to play ET. Thanks for the second chance at clan, I enjoyed it. To be free from having to switch teams 4 times a map to keep it even will be a novelty and I look forward to that.
