Shana Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Right, when they make etpro compatible, there will be 'green ligh' to update et... By far I'm using ET L for all mods, except for etpro. little info: I have cursor upside down only on Noquarter mod(FA cursor) and on silent everything is fine... Th3o P.S. I attach compatible mods with ET L P.S.2 Fix for all those who have mouse problems(not moving right, left, wireless mouse are lagging etc) Try /in_mouse -1 Tested it on ET L, no idea if it works on 2.60b, but it should Edited January 11, 2014 by Th3ory Quote
S3ti Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Installed and runs fine with Jaymod, but I have lower fps than with 2.6b. Settings are the same in ET and Nvidia driver for both games. demo1 150fps -> 140fps demo2 240fps -> 220fps And if I run ET:L with rinput.exe the sensitivity is more than doubled, feels weird overall and some strange mouseaccel is there. They state on the website they will implement raw input in the next release, gonna try again then. For now there are no noticable improvements or bugfixes. A bunch of obsolete cvars are removed and Antialiasing can be enabled in the engine, but that's not worth a switch for me at least... And if someone goes from 80 to 250 fps, I want to see solid proofs and timedemos Edited January 11, 2014 by S3ti Quote
Shana Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 I really don't care about fps, I can play with 15 also I chose ET legacy cause it's easier to do some stuff while having fullscreen. Don't say anything about etminimizer or that programs..... No need to play 'pro', I'm just playing to have fun Btw I'm waiting for new release too Th3o Quote
assas1n Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Ive been running ET Legacy for many months now, started with the RC1. Im on openSUSE 13.1, 64 bits. Been running great since day 1, only with the upside down cursor on the menu Much much simpler to install through a repository than to fidle with ancient 2.60b, with its patches and things. fishdude Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I found another cool feature. If you start ETL from a terminal window (Linux for sure, maybe in a windows command prompt?), what you type in the terminal window gets entered just like you were using the console within the game. 2.6b did not do that. 1 Quote
Antichrist Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 The fact that it doesn't support ETPro kind of sucks though, and would be a deal killer for a lot of players.. Quote

Has something to do with proprietary licenses of ET Pro and the GPL license that ET:Legacy is using, since its an opensource project. Quote

Shana Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 I have both 2.60b and 2.71rc3 1st to play, and 2nd to be in specs I love them both, as far as I have space they'll be there! Th3o Quote

I paste stuff from the terminal, since on Linux I cannot paste in et console. But I think you have to set /ttycon 1 in your et config or command line, if not it doesn't work. 2 Quote

But I think you have to set /ttycon 1 in your et config or command line, if not it doesn't work. Cool, I'll have to try that. To get 2.71rc3 running on Ubuntu, I ended up installing newer libSDL2 libraries (libSDL2-2.0), which causes a no sound bug in 2.6b. I am using the et-sdl-sound loader, which I will probably update so I don't have to do this, but temporarily when I start 2.6b I run this command. export LIBSDL=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libSDL-1.2.so.0 && games/et-sdl-sound I can't switch back and forth out of windowed/fullscreen modes very smoothly on 2.6b though. staticwarp Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 There are 3 et mains 1 is in old et 2.60b folder, 2 another is in the et legacy installation 3 the right one is in the documents on windows(read above or at the 1st page....) (quote if you couldn't find it) Th3o awesome, thanks. i missed that part. XD I'll run it some more tomorrow. still hate that the cursor is upside down. did they do that on purpose? Quote
Shana Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 It's not their fault I guess. Check between silent and noqarter mod. Silent has default cursor and NQ has FA cursor, I think it's cause of custom cursor that it's upside down. Haven't found fix yet but maybe they are going to solve it in next patch Th3o Quote
