slenderman Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I was scrolling through lots of articles related to the launch of the Xbox One and almost all the comments are negative - some people even wrote that hardcore Xbox fans are going to go after the PS4 Quote
Dddrgn Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I spent half an hour typing an extended response, only to have my keyboard glitch and delete the entire thing. My main response is that Nintendo will win this generation, as it's Wii-U is the only console that supports backwards compatibility, and many other cool features. Xbox is going down the drain, and I predict this will be their worst selling console yet, while I believe the amount of people using the playstation 4 will be huge, as well as the Wii-U. Quote
putts Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I don't like the fact that my PC that I built 3.5 years ago destroys it (a few upgrades since but still). It's underpowered IMO. My biggest dislike about it. I don't like no backward compatability. I want an SSD! I like it's potential for controlling my entire entertainment center. It is similar to how my Logitech Harmony One remote can turn on devices and set each device to the correct input. I've been using my 360 more for netflix lately. Maybe it can replace one of my DISH boxes. That could save me some money, but does it have coax input? If it has coax input and can get OTA channels I will think about it. I plan on getting rid of DISH in a year and going DSL, Netflix and Hulu+ only. I like how it has a blu-ray player (hopefully 3D compatible). I like how MS is integrating ALL formats together (phone, tablet, xbox and pc). I will be going to windows phone in the near future (probably within a year because of $ problems) and if I were to get xbox one I would seriously think of getting windows 8. Me, no thanks for now. No $ at all. Especially for a "set top box." Quote
wh!rlw!nd Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 some people even wrote that hardcore Xbox fans are going to go after the PS4 We need to wait and see, But you are correct here. Just so long as i can get my 360 controller to work with the PS4 - It looks more likely to be a good gaming console than the Xbox One. I am a hardcore xbox gamer over Failstation... But we just need to wait and see. Everyone is giving the One bad press saying its only focus is on being a multimedia device - But as i said... We need to wait and see. Also - Did you see the price slips from Amazon and a few more? £600 for the console and upwards of £85 a game! WTF.... Quote
GI-JOE Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) I think people jumped on the bandwagon of hate a bit too fast. Microsoft said in a statement somewhere that they were only showing off hardware at their announcement and that the games would be saved for E3 (since E3 was being held only a few weeks after their reveal)...Most of the other rumors that have been floating around are either unconfirmed or half confirmed rumors that irresponsible journalists clutched on to and threw out there as confirmed features of the system without checking the sources or bothering to confirm any of them. Though the rumor wasn't confirmed or only half true, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of DRM attached to used Xbox One games, which wouldn't bother me a whole lot honestly :\ I don't give 2 shits about the NFL, Skype, or cable TV features, but I thought there were still quite a few cool features that (for me) give it an edge over sony. I also like the ability to switch between games, apps, and other features on the fly, I also thought the snap feature was pretty cool, I like the idea of being able to bring that up rather than having it forced on me in the middle of a TV show where it kills half my picture with stupid text I don't care about. I'm looking forward to E3 though. The chance that all the kids crying about it and proclaiming that they're going to get a PS4 will end up with their foot in their mouth is almost palpable That all being said I still think PC is a superior platform to home consoles but that's just my opinion Edited June 1, 2013 by GI-JOE Quote
b0rR*4cHo Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Aesthetically it is not appealing, but then again I guess it has to be a box. Quote

PredatorOpz Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 My opinion is that its not for gamers but more of a family console! PS4 is more for gamers now. Every console has flaws but Xbox One has way to many already Quote

And having bought myself the previous 2 Xbox's more or less on day of release this is one Xbox I shan't be bothering to buy. Saddens me that I feel that way but I think MS have seriously dropped the ball with this latest generation of hardware. Altho' I am running out of space for all my consoles so that's prolly a good thing... 1 Quote
Shinobi Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Mostly agree with you all, that was a really hard thing to compare the ps4 and xbox one because I have both ps3 and xbox 360 but it looks like I am going to switch to the ps4! It seems to be more of concentrating on gaming plus the new Final Fantasy looks great, I been following it since 2009 when it was versus XIII Quote

Price has come down, games are $50 or $60 (in line with other platforms), MSFT just hired the game who perfected STEAM away from Steam to run the gaming plus now we see that PS4 is not all that it was cracked up to be... I mayyyyyy be just a bit biased here, but the XBox One will be THE platform to have come the new year Quote
