Abnerdog EMPTY??

I am wondering is something is wrong with the server?

I've been on at my normal times  - several times now, and seen no one, or only one - 4 people. Even during peak times. Did the IP recently change?

Some of us got attacked by some lame PunkBuster false positive AimBot hiccup ... at least Midnight & Myself ... reading the web, it might be Very widespread and many sites suggested staying Off all PB servers until this issue gets resolved. Not sure that's the reason, but it can't be helping.

That probably has something to do with it. Fortunately it hasn't it me, but still it's pretty bad. I would just take a break from cod4 for a period of time, wait until it gets sorted out, maybe hit up the TF2 server that never gets played on.

Server is dead because of massive PB kicks ... Not because of 50751.. and all this spawn time delays which members asked for.

Feel free to come play on 1.7 Beginners. No PB on and can always use more admins.

Well, I used to play a lot on Abner (nearly never joined a different server). But since RSI is kicking in hard time and I already spend ~60 hours a week (still increasing) on graduation (writing thesis), CoD4 is on really low priority right now.

 

Much more than checking the forums/9gag/facebook and writing thesis isn't a good idea for me.

i am not really a friend of disabling pb. but maybe we should think about it to repopulate the server.

after a long absence, i played recently on abnerdog. abnerdog has really nice settings, no ls, no gl. some objective based maps. the spawn time delay is the only thing i dislike on abnerdog.

I don't play on servers without PB. Yeah, you can get kicked faster. But it is solved quite easy if you use google and -more importantly- you don't need an admin fulltime on spec to find cheaters.

 

 

I understand that many rather choose to not find the (their!!!) problem with PB, but disabling would cause more problems.

our ET server are working fine too without pb. ofc, you have to look closer to someone but the most dont try to hide their cheat.

and i dont think using google will fix their pb problems. i am pretty sure the most already tried, or the others dont know what to do.

 

as i said, i am not a friend of disabling pb, but its maybe worth a try, or we have 1 more server which is empty

 

 

Edit: well, i am playing not much on abnerdog. the abnerdog admins should start a vote about it or atleast share their opinion about it.

 

side note: i am pretty sure some abnerdog admins will visit the forum more often if they have to post a suspected or banned cheater ^^

Most of the time at weekdays the server is populated when I play. which would be at 17:00 (GMT +1) and after.

Abner is still my favorite server..... when there are enough players on.   Have not had any  issues with PB (except self inflicted ones). 

I personally do not think it is the rotation or the spawn delay causing the downturn in attendance.

 

Have been playing on Beginners server when there is not enough on Abner.  Always a good war going on in Beginners but also lots of hackers.  More admin always welcome.

I changed the map rotation today and also removed spawn delays. I also merged the banned GUID's from all TDM LOW PING NO LAG and our's so most of the cheating GUID's would be banned.

Its a good thing the spawn delay has been removed.. There were players having problem with that.. Also I really dont think there is a problem with PB. If there is then lets wait for the analysis to come out..
