What do I need to know as a new ET player?

I saw how much some of our members love ET, so I decided to give it a try, and so far have been enjoying the game, but I have been having trouble grasping the game mechanics, and how the gametypes function. I'm a COD player, so the spammy side to side spray and pray style that dominates the game is new to me, and the lack of large objective markers makes it hard for me to understand what's going on, even with other players on the server. What do I need to know as a new player, how the gametypes work, what guns to use in what situation? I don't understand the differences between the servers as well, if someone could explain this, I would be very grateful.

Well on the plus side, moving from COD to ET you wont have to deal with near as much camping hahahaha, though it still goes on.. I had been playing ET and moved to COD and after I did so, I swore I would never complain about the ET campers ever again lol.. Just have fun, that's the most important thing, well that and always aim for the head

ET for noobs (personal experience):

 

-Get the panza/rnade/flame, best go with the panza

-3 hs kills

-Rambo medics are a thing => use rambo medic in EVERY situation (unless you can get the panza, then get the panza)

like any other games, just aim & shoot man! XD...you should get yourself familiarize with many different ET maps to know where your objectives are, spots to pawn or camp etc. well to do that you probably need to sit in spec & observe the players or just search in youtube. then there are tweaks or configs.... there are just so much to explain in ET which you have to discover for yourself

In most public servers they play just for fragging, so I would suggest you to pick medic (the standard class in this game) and kill as many opponents as possible (and revive your team mates, too )

 

If you want to have fun without learning how to aim, take flamethrower, panzerfaust or mortar

 

Learn the maps, and you will be ok.

And above all, have fun. You can't learn how to play in 1 day.

Haha, I know it will take a while. I want to at least try to know what's going on though, It can be rather confusing.

A few tips from me...

 

1. Make sure when you are in a fight to strafe back and forth and try to get around them and other crazy stuff   Just make it harder to hit you! I usually keep tapping crouch while strafing to throw them off. Not sure if it works or not, but I do pretty well lol.

 

2. Aim for the head.

 

3. If someone poisons you with a knife and you are unable to get someone to give you a medpack I always kill myself with a grenade

 

4. Set up a button you can reach quickly to kill out in time (/kill) if someone fires a panzer at you.

 

 

Differences in the servers.

 

 

F|A RECRUITING XP SAVE  (aka jay 1) -

 

F|A #2 XPSAVE FOREVER (jay 2) - think adrenaline is on this server not sure. (adrenaline makes your stamina bar not decrease for a period of time) makes you harder to kill

 

F|A BEGINNERS XPS FOREVER (jay 3?) - faster firing, adrenaline

 

 

All three of these servers are based on jaymod. Which is a mod for the game. They all include double jump (tap space twice to jump higher) and have a lot of slots for players. They also have poison knives.

 

 

 

- F|A SILENT RECRUITING XPS

 

- F|A HARDCORE XPS - team damage is on.

 

- F|A STOPWATCH SERVER -team damage is on and this server is for competitive purposes.

 

All of these servers are based on silent mod. No double jump, no poison knives to my knowledge, and have smaller number of slots for players.

rules no.1 on Jay 1 server: don't give DJ never never ever a heavy weapon. if you see DJ walking with a heavy weapon, best is to hide

In close battle 1on1 , you can  hold your fire untill the enemy runs almost out of  bullets then you have all the time to give him 3 headshots.

Yeah, but adre sucks. I hate it and will NEVER play on a server which got it enable (ow , and I only play NQ )

Haha, so far it's quite a bit to take in. I'm getting more used to the feel of the game, the maps are pretty hard to figure out though. Well, I know what the weird thing that keeps poisoning me is now, dang knives.

Try your best to stay away from airstrike/arty . Do your best to dodge panzer shots. remember to strafe during fire fight + Aim  Head always. Keep up with your team, but most times your team doesnt keep up with you lol. you might want to camp around for a couple days to learn the maps. learn the objective. learn about the different classes and pick your favorite. 

 

use [Y] button to talk to team mates. 

 

 

oh yea if your level is not set on a server like Hardcore don't join the server with tags on. you can ask leader/co-leader xfire for that.

once your done with that you can learn admin level structure !help to see list of commands and !list for list of players. its probably similar to COD4.

 

 

 

oh almost forgot about Speed bar(Long Green Bar) dont use it up too much, if you do it will turn red
