Tried playing with version convertor...

I downloaded and installed the conversion program so I could play on Abner, what a mess. My ping went all over the place and there was a huge lag in the game play.

There must have been about a 1/10 of second delay between when I pressed the mouse button to shoot, and when it actually happened. Then I kept getting errors

and the game would kick me.

 

So, I am not impressed with the convertor program.

I did that before I went in to the convertor.

The errors were with the iwmp3.exe file. IT kept telling me something was wrong with it.

plug in some headphones...and yeh you get that with the version switcher...

my fix was lowering graphics

I run the version program with headphones and I have never had an issue.  Wish I could tell you why and how to fix it.

Don't use the converter, do what midnight does - have two version folders and swap them around.

This, I used it myself and it is the best. Only X-fire won't be able to show that you are playing anything when playing the downgraded version. (and vice-versa if you had upgraded it to 1.7)
