Neither side, Atheist or Theist can prove nor disprove the other.... You'll find out when you're dead.

Not so true, evolution has already proved a lot :) but I'm not here to create a conflict about religions.

Those statistics don't really surprise me...theism is getting an old way of thinking, at least in Asia and a bit in Europa.

Are we not all friends here? If not I'm sorry for I thought we were all here for the purpose of sharing a enjoyable gaming experience and to make new connections in a friendly manor. As long as respect is given to one another then I see the forums as a wonderful tool for us to expand our understanding of each others lives and beliefs. We have the ability to connect with a global community unlike has ever existed and though the open and free exchange of ideas we can strive to build and more understanding and peaceful world. In closing we don't have to agree on everything( or anything for that matter) but we should all be thankful we live in a time were we enjoy the freedom to express such views. BTW maybe we should have a separate section in the forums for discussions of this nature so that those of us that wish to can do so without annoying those that dont.

Murky? Christianity promotes the values of respect, tolerance, and right vs. wrong in it's teachings, yet practicing those things is a different story. More people have been killed in the name of Christianity than anything else since recorded time.

This ^

For thousands of years, Jews have been persecuted by many different civilisations and nations such as the Romans, Babylonians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Christians (in the Dark Ages) and more recently European anti-Semitics of which the most prominent group were of course the NationalSocialistische Partei Deutschland or Nazi Party.

Christians have killed thousands of people because e.g. person A was Protestant but B was Catholic, or the Muslims during the Crusades of the late 11th - 13th century and of course the Spanish Inqusition which burned, tortured and killed thousands of 'heretics' and non-believers.

In Vietnam Ngo Dinh Diem, the corrupt leader of Vietnam until 1963 was a Roman Catholic and persecuted the Buddhists (majority of the population, especially peasants). Many Buddhist monks burned themselves in public in protest to the sacking of Buddhist temples and persecution, of which the most prominent example was Quang Duc.

And of course the Arab-Israeli Conflict. Not just the modern one, but throughout history, Jews and Muslims have fought each other and hated each other. This continues today with the formation of the State of Israel on 14/05/1948 and there have been many wars since such as the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War. There are many many reasons for the conflict but religion is one of them, with the added factor of Jerusalem being a sacred city for Christianity, Judaism AND Islam.

Those are just a few of the dozens of examples of religion being a motive for killing and persecution.

You want your own section, go for it. However, I guarantee that it will end up being a flame-fest of bs. I've seen it on many forums.

Don't give me this crap about being thankful for the ability to express ourselves. There are forums for that. Use those. This is an international gaming forum, with people from a wide variety of political/religious backgrounds, and we don't need stupid fighting. I don't allow it on server, so I wouldn't want to see it here.

Already there have been passive aggressive posts for/against in this thread alone. Not to mention the former Obama thread or even the recent School shooting. This shit stirs up emotions and causes issues. I've had to bite my tongue several times, so I didn't tear into other people over stupid comments.

@Katon Evolution does not prove or disprove the existence of an all knowing deity. So again, my argument holds true.

Your use of "correct" implies that raising children in a non-Christian way is incorrect. That right there is the lack of tolerance and respect that I am trying to describe.

Yes practically it has been misused, but that is due to the evilness in the world. Everything has been misused for evil in the world.

I am saying that from your parents point of view of what correct is. And yes from my point of view of what correct is too. You have a different point of view.

I never said we were tolerant, why should we have to be tolerant? I am friends with a lot of people who disagree with me when it comes to religion and they are good friends of mine. That doesn't mean I have to tolerate when they are doing things that I disagree with.

Yes, why read it if it annoys you? We are in global community which is why there will be a lot of different opinions, just remember none of it is personal. just stating my opinion.

Just wondering how that disproves the existence of God. I enjoy these kinds of discussions. :P

Since the Clan requires all members to be respectful, all posts should be respectful. This IS a separate section (News), about current NEWS relevant to the persons involved in the clan, servers, & forum. POLITICS, & RELIGION are NEWS. In fact you would be hard pressed to find any news story ever in the history of mankind that did not involve Politics and religion.

As to not allowing it on the server, I would like to know what server has those rules, so I can avoid it.

IF anyone is not mature enough to be RESPECTFUL when discussing things online, they need to really look deeply in the mirrior, because if you're not polite online, then you're likely not far from being a jackass in person too. (to?)

For myself I am a Pentecostal Christian, Assemblies of God. Where I work we have a lesbian (physician's assistant), and @ least 4 of the volunteers are Gay. One of the Gay's considers himself Christian. He does not believe God well send him to hell for being Gay.

I know all 5 of them are going to burn in a lake of fire for all of eternity, unless they repent of their wicked ways.

I committed Adultery for many years by having premarital sex. I knew that if I died, eternal damnation. My sins were no less then their's as God sees all sins as equal.

It doesn't change the fact that I want to watch the Lesbian make out with her girlfriend, or my wife (such thoughts are sinful, and such actions would be sins, as would be condoning, and allowing it to happen, so again fiery pit. ).

It doesn't mean that I get to stone them, or act like a ****. EMT Hipple can attest that I've talked religion with some of the Gay volunteers at my ambulance service, and been honest about my thoughts. That doesn't mean I don't run calls with them, or am afraid to watch TV or go out to dinner with them. I consider them friend/adequateness. Jesus Commands us not to be bigoted.

Mature people can have these discussions , even about very sensitive topics, in a workplace. Immature people have no business being in a workplace.

Carte Blanche banning of such topics does not enrich anyone. Guns are an everyday part of many American's lives. Pretending otherwise would be no different then pretending we did not have mothers.

Let's answer this in the way you are going to get on pretty much any gaming forum and the reason this really doesn't belong here:

if-my-calculations-are-correct-thats-bullshit.jpg

ps. I could have told you in a mature way that I think what you are telling is hypocritical BS, but I wanted to make a point.

Sorry Kane. This is a community of all ages. Not everyone here is part of the clan, either- So no, not everyone is going to be mature enough to handle these discussions.

This holds true, ESPECIALLY on the server. I'm sorry, but I'm not having a bunch of random people, friends or not, arguing and warring over 'important' opinions. I mean, if you came onto the server saying that you believe 'gays are going to burn in a lake of fire'... Pretty sure you'd be called a "f***ing moron" by at least one person. Which, of course, would eventually turn into a war.

Yeah. No. Not happening.

I can ignore ignorant stupidity here. I will not be forced to watch it on server, nor will I subject anyone else to do so, either.

Of course I would be unlikely to engage in such a conversation in game, as generally speaking it makes it very hard to convey the message accurately I think most people are going to burn in a lake of fire, since most people are evil and unrepentant sinners. Including myself, for that mater, as I am doing a number of things which I know are wrong, but continue to do them. I understand you're point sin, but I doubt anyone here is younger then 12. IF they are their parents should really be checking their computer use. At 12 we discussed all of these things regularly at home, in church, in school, and among my friends. If you haven't started deciding what kind of man you're going to be at that age, odds are you're never going grow up and accept responsibility for anything, or be able to make serious decisions in life. We all agree things should not be vulgar.

Joske, if you'd like to fact check me, I live in Pennsylvania and have a spare room. Just because I hold firm opinions, doesn't mean I'm bullshitting. I'm not making excuses for my wrong behavior, I know that many things Ive done or are doing is wrong, and I've not taken steps to stop. I've zero doubt I burn in forever given my current lacks relationship with The Lord.

Alright, I understand this is news, and very interesting but if people start turning this into a flame war or going at it on forums this topic will be locks. Agree to disagree, not everyone has the same opinion and not everyone is mature to respect others....but still settle down...remember to calm down and relax before posting. I really don't want to lock a topic over something that could be prevented.

That being said interesting topic....
