It looks like it is the number of maps that I have in etmain... I've never deleted any. I deleted ALL the pk3s and then reinstalled ET to get the base maps. Due to the speed of downloads from the FA download site (<80KB/s) I am quiting the game, recovering the current map and then going back in... fun.

Thanks for the hint on map counts.

Where is pak0.pk3? You don't delete all pk3's. Just now re install the game back :)

Apparently you didn't bother to read my entire post. I did delete all the .PK3 files in ETMAIN, and then I reinstalled the game, so that all the base .PK3 files were restored. Including PAK0.pk3.

What I included was the error message from the ET starter, which examines all the files in ETMAIN. It indicates that there were a huge number of files in .PK3 files, but it certainly doesn't show ALL the .pkf3 files as there were 470 .PK3 Files containing 3,640,597,317 bytes.

I think that I am getting the same error message but Im not able to open EtPub or Hardcore, as well I dont have any admin levels on Jay2.

I get this message after i try to access EtPub or Hardcore "Couldn't reopen C:\PROGRA~1\WOLFEN~1\etmain\pakO.pk3

Weird cause i can access Jay1 and Jay2

What should I do and don't tell me I am going to have to reinstall ET completely again :confused

Any suggestions

Delete profile folder in etpub folder. Might help.

Reinstall would actually be a lot faster in this case (judging by the time of the post). That is what I usually do if something goes bonkers on me =P
