Other clans complain of tag stealing in F|A server

I had some .PRO Clan members in Jay 2 this morning asking me to kick a player for wearing their tags. I didn't feel like there was much I could do. Since I haven't run into this, I didn't know if there is a rule on it.

 

I asked the player why he wore the tags if he was'nt in the clan. He never answered. I left to find answers but couldn't get one. When I returned he left the server.

 

What are the rules on this for future reference? I didn't really see it fit to kick him for wearing someone else's tags in our server. But if there are a few clan players saying he isn't with them. Does that justify a !kick to change the name? To keep the peace? I was actually more annoyed by .Pro/Coyote's whining about it to be honest.

Hmm IMO this is beign against our rules of beign respecfull to everyone but this shouldn't be taked care off like if he was tagstealing our tag.

Maybe something like !warn 3x for No respect against other players?

imo its fa's server not anyone elses, if they want to make a big deal about it take it pm's or have one of the higher clan memebers come on and see. most people in clans should know who every member is. just sayin

Yeah, it rly depends on the clan in-question. If it's like CTRL (or dare I say pro*) who are a friend of the clan, provide a lot of traffic, and help us root-out hackers.....then in that case I would take it upon myself to help rectify the situation. I'm merely going off of the last time this situation occured about a year ago...and only take the complaint srysly is it one of those clans leaders making the complaint.

I think it is really silly that they are complaining that we aren't policing their tagstealers. I think we have enough work to do here as it is, let alone verify every single player who comes on to make sure they are not stealing tags from clan xyz.

I think we have enough with our own clan imagen we have to this with all clans.

it would almost mean we have to handle every et player that crosses our servers.

sure asking that certain player won't harm but we can't act on everything

I'm agree to discuss.. We must keep the dialogue with all clans, it's totally normal.. But to help them.. I think that should only apply to clans who help us.. Like to check their members about cheating and behaviours on our servers.. There's only some clans who deserve this for now (Ctrl, Loc..).. A good solution to involve these clan to keep the server clean and to respect rules.. We must share respect and not each time in only one direction.. IMHO..

I dont see any problem with helping... but the way they made the request made it seem like they expect us to pre-emptively ensure other clans dont have tags stolen.

Not that I have a say on how to handle this, but I'm agreeing with daredevil. and It all depends on who is complaining, if this guy wants to get rid of the faker. then he should have no problems registering on forums. but in cases like the clan is known for starting trouble. then why bother?

 

Since I was granted level 4 I usually take care of this myself. lately I've been seeing people tag steal ctrl and then start talking shit. and starting trouble like stepping on mortars. this is where it gets serious and then I start to get pissed off because this not only hurts the image of my clan. but this also gets me in question in how i act. example: Oh hey a ctrl. are you gonna whine, talk shit and push people off edges like others? I think this is when admins need to do something. But the complainer can't just say "plz get rid of him plz plz plz" etc...

 

And also on FA trackbase page: "Our friends:

I R NEWB, but! It is nice to help our neighbours from time to time. People are naturally dicks when it comes to the online world. While it isn't really our issue, we should still at least try to help clans that ask us for help- whether we have alliances or not.

 

We should be the first to offer a hand in such matter, with hopes that if the need were to arise, that these clans/players would gladly return the favour.

 

I believe in karma to an extent, and the words of treating others how you would hope to be treated. You never know, such courtesies may be returned one day.

 

Then again, we should also use caution to those making the reports and HOW they make a report.
