EDIT: redescription with more specs: H&R 1871 (formerly New England Firearms) Pardner Protector. Based on the Remington 870, almost all parts are interchangeable except the barrel. Pump action. 2 3/4" or 3" shells. Synthetic stock and forearm. Swivel studs. Bead front sight, tapped for a scope. No choke. 5 round capacity. 37 5/8" overall length. 7.5 lbs. Quote

I never intended on using the Mosin for home protection I was actually going to buy the Mossberg JIC II, but after seeing a few youtube videos, I realized holding a 12 gauge without a buttstock would be fairly difficult while firing But I'll still be buying the Mosin too, when it comes in. And I just ordered a Nebo Protec Tactical light/laser with mount and pressure switch, along with some AZOOM snap caps for loading/cycling/firing practice. Quote

Handzz Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Why would you need a laser for a pump shotgun? I have an 870 Marine Magnum, 18 inch barrel and 7 round tube. I keep the slide released and no round in the chamber. Most people use a laser for intimidation. If you hear the unmistakable sound of an 870 shotgun being pumped and you are still in my house that is your own fault. Be prepared to meet some .000 buck from 3'' Magnum shells. Sig P229 .357Sig with night sights as my back-up, but doubt I need it. Quote

I think I remember my friend saying that, because he wanted one of those very badly. Instead, his first gun ended up being a bolt-action .410 gauge shotgun. I bought it because the light AND mount with light, light/laser, and strobe modes was cheaper than the lights out there. What I BOUGHT: a light for my 12 gauge, with pressure switch, rated @110 Lumens, with great reviews.... for $22. What I GOT: a light for my 12 gauge, with pressure switch, rated @110 lumens, with great reviews.... for $22. It just happens to also have a laser/light mode, and strobe mode along with it. Who says no to getting MORE than what you paid for? lol Quote
