my ET Crashed

hello,

 

my ET crashed from time to time.

but why?

i´ve already used the pk cleaner.

when et crashed, i can do nothing and must restart my pc.

does anyone know why?

Same thing happens with me, but very rarely.

Once ET crashes there is no option left other than to press reset button.

 

Make sure you have up to date drivers and you have no faulty hardware. Just check if you can run other games.

 

Here is a way to prevent restarting your PC if ET crashes:

 

If you have a Power button on your keyboard, just press it. You will either shut down your PC (default function) or it will display a menu asking what you want to do. If the menu is displayed, just start task manager and kill the ET process manually.

It happens sometimes to me also,no clue why or how..

It could be an issue with the map, next time note the map that you are playing at the time of the crash. Fueldump and temple maps are know for this issue.

Yes and there is too much complains of game crashing & freezing .

 

 

P.S. : sorry to hijack this thread , but I got 1 more prob recently.. after every map I have to reboot my game ( /quit) , if I don't do that my fps drops to 2-5 , same if I go to another server

I had that problem sometimes, well not after new map but sometimes FPS dropped and had to restart. Try lowering the /com_maxfps to 40 as I remember that helped me.

 

@Dare I'm quite sure he uses 2.6b since he has big capitals in his binds which is not possible with 2.55, but lets wait his answer.

My ET would crash on occassion until i updated my video card drivers. If you have an ati card go to: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx to update the driver for ATI/AMD based cards or go to http://www.nvidia.com and go to the "download drivers" section for nvidia cards. Hope this helps you out.

yes using 2.60b

task manager is good option but cant do anything only reset button on pc.

its not matter wich map or how many people playing.

maybe must reconfig ETMAIN.cfg and AUTOEXEC.cfg

have a older pc but working good.

play Jaymod.

i set Ram for Sound to 64MB in Options Autoexe / FA Memory&Connections and had no crashes for last 4 weeks

I have problems with that too sometimes. I have to press the reset button because my keyboard and mouse doesn't work anymore. I'm using too 2.6b.

- update your graphiccard and soundcard to newest drivers

- use the FA PK3 Cleaner Tool

- put all programms off when play ET

- use autoexec.cfg

- clean your pc system

 

every pc system is different.
