rolf Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I split it up into three categories, between those there is no comparison possible, it really depends in which mood I am Anyway, I have three, and a lot close calls "Soundtrack": Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre été l'après midi If you've never heard this song before, watch this movie. It's French, but the story is good but the soundtrack is beyond amazing. Other candidates: The Rock, Gladiator (basicly, Hans Zimmer), Vangelis (Conquest of Paradise, Chariots of Fire) and in the same category The Penguin Cafe Orchestra (only the name itself is brilliant enough, would be awesome in a movie, but has never been afaik). Electronic ("Softer"/Vocal trance, Lounge): Chicane - Offshore Other candiates: Chicane - Saltwater, Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar, Salt Tank, Solar Stone, Paul van Dyk - For an Angel, DJ Tiesto - In my memory, Gouryella (of which Tiesto is part of), Yahel - Voyage, Lasgo, Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun, Depeche Mode - Enjoy the silence, Push – Universal Nation (Innercity opening, 1999 Damn I wish I was be there!), etc Dutch: Guus Meeuwis - Het is een nacht (levensecht) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R2vT8EM2ac Other candidates: Guus Meeuwis - Brabant, and some others of him. I could create another category for "good old classics", for example and among others: Metallica - Nothing else matters, Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, Billy Joel - Pianoman, Abba, Toto - Africa, Men at work - Down under, Phil Collins (In the air tonight, Another day in paradise), Falco - Jeanny, Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells and I probably forget way too many, but you've heard those all before. Or should have at least. Quote
Spitfire Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Give my top 3 fav songs, thats just impossible, first of all this list updates all the time, and it all depends about my mood whats my fav songs,i listen everything from blues to dnb, every genre have some very good songs. Quote
Kostaja Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 The top 3 is hard to decide. When asked for your favorite song, telling them this is the second best ever leaves you with the opportunity of changing your opinion. Number one has changed over the years so frequently that I now only will name songs 2-4. These are not in any order. This is from Use Your Illusion II. Arguably the best song on the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpmAY059TTY&ob=av2e Yeah, I do like GNR... ( my favorite guitar solo of all time btw ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-AYAv0IoWI The third one is the hardest. So many great songs to choose from ( the band was obvious for me ). Well, here goes... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq2OXVuAvQw This is my list at this point. It changes but I guess so does everyone elses. Quote

Zavion Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I like what rolf did. I listen to such a wide variety of music that it is impossible to weed out one genre and pick 3 favorites from that. So these are pretty random. But my top 3 favorites of all time... In no particular order of course The Who - The Seeker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAbzlj3nf4E Eddie Vedder - Hard Sun (Into The Wild OST) Diary of Dreams - Butterfly Dance Note - German Band. Most of the songs on thier albums are in German but thought that English best suited this song when they recorded it. So, it is English with a heavy German accent. Quote
