How can I use 1280x720 resolution

seta r_customheight "720"
seta r_customwidth "1280"
seta r_mode "which one?"

On the forum I found r_mode 7 for 7 when required 1280x720 resolution is 4:3.

I made many tests of "r_mode -1" 16:9 resolution becomes just that the view is cut and it seems crushed.

How can I get the 1280x720 resolution??

Is there perhaps have a command specifically for the wide screen resolutions?

The r_mode I have tried many forums and also looking at the console using "/modelist".

but do not work what do you recommend to try?

For me r_mode -1 worked on 1680x1050, so I don't know why is it doing that (no cutting or anything, HUD was little stretched but that can't be avoided, world itself was fine). Try adding /r_customaspect 1 and see if it helps.

Your resolution for my monitor is too big, with regard to the command you suggested I already have one up if I put 0, the game crashes.

I just can not figure out what to use for the resolution 1280x720 r_mode.

I tried this:

r_mode 1 --> 4:3

r_mode 2 --> 4:3

r_mode 3 --> 4:3

r_mode 4 --> 4:3

r_mode 5 --> 4:3

r_mode 6 --> 4:3

r_mode 7 --> 4:3

r_mode 8 --> 4:3

r_mode 9 --> 4:3

r_mode 10 --> 4:3

r_mode 11 --> 16:9 - (but it isis too small)

r_mode 12 --> the game crashes

r_mode 13 --> the game crashes

r_mode 14 --> the game crashes

r_mode 15 --> the game crashes

r_mode -1 --> is like the picture I put on

r_mode -2 --> the game crashes

r_mode -3 --> the game crashes

Try some of these r_mode happens to me also that the resolution does not stay as I put (1280x720)

Try loading r_mode -1 first..

seta r_mode "-1"

seta r_customheight "720"

seta r_customwidth "1280"

Is that right? I do not seem

Yep that's it. :) Things to look a little stretched but there's no way around that since ET is so old (and free :P).

Actually, having looked at your screenshots, they're actually taken @ a resolution of 800x450... When I take a screenshot with 1366x768 resolution, thats how its saved.. So your screenshots should be @ 1280 x 720.. So I think there's conflicting vars in your config..

Open your cfg (and even the autoexec's in each /mod/profile/) and CTRL+F (find) r_mode and r_custom and see if there are any results which shouldn't be there.. Because it looks to me like your cfg is actually setting it to 800x450..

so be sure to remove any conflicting r_modes or r_customheight/width, then try again :)

nice, I didn't know they were still developing new versions, should be very easy to implement, I know this is not the right place to say it but it could be an idea for silent mod too? Like multiplying fov_y by a factor, that would fix the 3d view at least, then there should be a fix for textures like the compass, crosshair, etc. and that's more work...

edit:

I wanted to add,

that r_mode -1 is the only mode to use together with r_customwidth, etc. it makes no sense to set r_customwidth and then set r_mode to any other values than -1

r_customaspect is a dummy cvar, it does exist, but it's not used anywhere, because they changed the way vertical fov is calculated
