Anyone who really knows CFG's see anything in here that's unneeded, redundant or set wrong??

Using ETL: 2.82.1

 

I'm having 2 issues that are frustrating the heck out of me.

1 - like a recoil issue. I get hit by another players bullets, it throws my aim off, but when I get the first shots on another player, it seems like they can return fire and not have an issue keeping aim.

2 - shooting long distance - across the map. Seems like it only takes a few hits to die but I have to hit the person I'm shooting at like 10+ hits to get the kill

Something is just not right. I've been feeling this for a long time so yesterday, I shot at someone standing still to test. I did not aim for the head and took 10 shots before he died and my score showed 10 shots, 6 hits. But I counted 10 hits.

Also, I constantly get into close 1v1 and count 6, 8, 10 hits when I get lazy and let my chairs drop, and lose and the opponent still has like 50HP.

Headshots, no issue. 3 headshots is a kill every time

 

I just don't get that and my internet is fast as hell and my server ping is 42ish

It is something in your cfg. Try this, it saved me for quitting et when I got new pc as with old cfg I didn't hit properly:

Is r_primitives still a valid setting in Etl ?wasnt it remived?

Are you trying to continuously hold down the x-key as you move?  I think that those movement keys are expected to be 'held down', not just 'blipped.'

 

 

What are those various " cg_speed ... " cvars for?  I have only found them in Valk's 2022 config post.  I didn't find them in the ETLegacy list of cvars.

 

I did notice that there are 2 different and slightly different sections for recording demos

 

before MEGO (My Eyes Glazed Over) 😄

 

There seem to be a lot of cvars that I have not seen, in my 2.6b world. 😄

Those are good questions, this CFG has been modified over the years but most of it is the original CFG a friend gave me in 2008.

Over the years I've asked people to scour this CFG and see what can be removed, which values should be changed etc but most people just say it looks good as it is

 

Quite possibly since I played ETPro mostly when I was young (And it was still fun)

You should try Rendels Suggestion with Harus cfg , sometimes a fresh start works wonders
