Elzozo Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) Hi ! I have trouble to connect some N!tmod server, When I try, I'm stuck in the Map Voting menu which doesn't load, so I cannot play nor exit. Therefore, I should restart my PC. Leader RedBaird Posted August 16, 2023 Leader Posted August 16, 2023 You are not "advertising" those two other servers, are you? 😄 You can try the FA Nitmod server === /connect fun1.clan-fa.com:27960 1 Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted August 16, 2023 Leader Posted August 16, 2023 If you have the same problem with the FA Nitmod server, then you can try deleting the nitmod pk3 files in your nitmod folder and let them be downloaded again. You could also try renaming your nitmod folder to NOTnitmod and let the server download a whole new installation. Quote
Elzozo Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 Advertizing is not my intention ! I'll see on your N!tmod server. Quote
Elzozo Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 I delete previous n!tmod folder and connect to your server, and it doesn't work ! Maybe it is a problem with file permission. Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 It's not a problem with file permission. Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted August 17, 2023 Leader Posted August 17, 2023 Your Elzozo name is not found on the FA Nitmod records, so you did not have a complete connection at all. Were you "stuck in mapvoting" on the FA server? I just sat through a map-change and voting was not offered. Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 Yes, I was stuck in the mapvoting screen (the screen after the "connecting..." screen and just before the game). Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) I taked some images of gameplay in a normal (Silent or jaymod) server which I can connect without difficulties. This is what I talked about. The n!tmod screen is quite different, though, with a black background, description on the left, etc. Edited August 17, 2023 by Elzozo Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 This image, taken from a YouTube video, shows what it looks like when I'm locked. Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted August 17, 2023 Leader Posted August 17, 2023 Does that same image appear when you try to join the FA Nitmod? If so, then it might be that a *.pk3 file downloaded from the Wood Clan is either corrupt or is interfering with all attempts to connect to all nitmod servers. If that is not exactly the same image, then it could be from another server, but the principle is still the same. 1 Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) The only difference is the presentation in the center of the image, with makes no reference at all with the wood thing. Edited August 17, 2023 by Elzozo Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted August 17, 2023 Leader Posted August 17, 2023 Okay, you see that map-voting message, then. That might not actually be related to your connection-problem. It could be just the last thing done before the connection 'freezes' for some reason. I would remove any pk3 files that are not part of the nitmod installation. You can also turn on your etconsole.log file, try to connect, and then check the etconsole.log file in etmain. Each time you start a new ET 'session', that file will be overwritten. It records mod-info, loading map-files into memory, and all the text seen in the console. Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted August 17, 2023 Leader Posted August 17, 2023 Here is an odd fix for an unrelated problem, found on TWC. Clients were crashing at end-of-map for some players. The fix was to delete the nkey file. 1 Quote
Elzozo Posted August 17, 2023 Author Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) ETconsole.log doesn't exist in my etmain folder. What is a nkey ? Nkey.dat file isn't in my nitmod installation. "I would remove any pk3 files that are not part of the nitmod installation." So I should delete all pk3 in all directories (exept pak* and mp_bin) ? P. S. — It is kind to take all this time to troubleshoot, thank you ! Edited August 17, 2023 by Elzozo 1 Quote
