Popular Post GHARIB Posted January 28, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2023 (edited) Please, check how strong/secure is your password on the web. Everything on the web begins with a strong password. Check here your score. https://www.security.org/how-secure-is-my-password/ How To Create Secure Passwords The best practices for creating secure passwords are: - A password should be 16 characters or more; our password-related research has found that 45 percent of Americans use passwords of eight characters or less, which are not as secure as longer passwords. - A password should include a combination of letters, numbers, and characters. - A password shouldn’t be shared with any other account. - A password shouldn’t include any of the user’s personal information like their address or phone number. It’s also best not to include any information that can be accessed on social media like kids’ or pets’ names. - A password shouldn’t contain any consecutive letters or numbers. - A password shouldn’t be the word “password” or the same letter or number repeated. Please don't try every website on the web proposing this service - a password should be checked on a "trusted website only". If your password is azerty123! just forget it 😛 Use different password for each website you have registred, because in case of breach / leak , your password of "blabla.com" is leaked, it will be tried on any other website. Other advice: If your password can be found in less than 100k years - change it 😄 Edit: Another advice : Check if your email has appeared and some data leaked about some accounts you maybe have over the web: https://haveibeenpwned.com/ If yes -> change your password (everywhere if you have same password every website!) Ultimate advice : Enable 2FA (double authentication) everywhere you can! Edited January 28, 2023 by GHARIB 8 2 2 Quote

Senior Member Vindstot Posted January 28, 2023 Senior Member Posted January 28, 2023 Okey, it is over, I won 😛 I try to use passwords which are related to the website in some way. And also use at least 1 big, small character, number, and try to make it long, as length is better than complexity 2 factor is important, since the hacker needs your phone as well to enter even if he knows everything about you (except if he hacks the entire website security, but then it is over in any case 😛 ) And the most important thing seems to be to me your main email password, to which you have everything connected. If you have that, you can "forget password". If that gets hacked and you lose it, then thats it, it is game over Correct me if Im wrong in any of those 😛 Thanks for the advice, Gharib! 1 3 Quote
