What do you need in order to get something going? The idea itself is fine and certainly not the first of its kind. Yet we have hosted very few actual tournaments, the primary reason being that the people that come up with the idea don't follow through with actually putting in the effort of organizing (and perhaps underestimating it).

 

Setting up servers should be one of the easiest tasks. If you're serious about it I think it would be good if you already draft a ruleset, mappool, format, etc to show what you're bringing to the table. Also you'll need to find people that want to be part of the hosting, like referees, in case a dispute happens. 

 

In the end, if you bring a worked out idea where you did everything you could do from your side all that's left to do from dd is to give a green light (which, if the worked out idea is good should not be an issue) and to prepare some servers, which can be done in a single day if needed.

Some competition within FA would be cool, doesn't even have to be ETPro as such, could be sniper wars, or 3v3s within a different mod.

I would agree with some competition. I think everyone here is too mature to not feed the ego about skills / wins or losses. 

 

The main obj is fun and tbh, we do have a lot of admins who has incredible skills. I´m nab, so doens´t count 😄

That's why I suggested something like sniper wars. I'm also nab :F

I keep hearing.... for past few years.. ANYONE can take lead and go ahead to complete it. 

 

Any server side - give me 2 weeks lead time and I will complete it.  I would say go ahead and do it internally... create a team - 3 vs 3 or 6 vs 6 - it's fun game, win/loose doesn't matter, and play the hack out of it. 

 

Internally - you can manage on Excel. Get the nominations who is interested... divide skilled vs non skilled i.e. destiny is skilled, he can have 2 or 5 non skilled folks - another side - put Haru or someone else. 

 

Invite regulars too if they are interested..  As long as their is no skilled or ego war, I am good. I will loose my nicer attitude, if ego war based on skill bashing starts. 

 

As long as folks understand - everyone will be welcomed and not some limitation based on XX skills - it would be all good. 

 

PS For me CUP is something when you advertise within other clans as well where allowed.... Like how Crossfire and other teams used to do officially...  having general stopwatch based games, within =F|A= servers regular/players, shouldn't be an issue.

Once the legacy server is up and running maybe we could have a dedicated gather/scrim server that runs legacy for some fun 3v3 or 6v6 games

 

You can add a bot like this one on discord so people can just ++ to add themselves when ever they are free; and once the required number of players are available it starts up the game allows you to pick teams etc and gives server and map picks.

After that all you would need is two separate voice channels. If you get enough people playing regularly like this then it should be easy to follow up with tournaments/competitions etc
