Question

Hi,

Trying to add the guid to my profile.

But when i try to to the /condump mysilentguid as per the tutorial

it just comes up with an error message saying ''couldn't open mysilentguid.txt.''

I have tried to run ET as an admin, same thing happens

What else can I try please?

I don't know why you are having that particular problem,

BUT...you already have your Silent GUID in your profile, but it is in the wrong field.  It is in your W:ET field and not in the S:ET field.  You just need to cut that 'number' from the W:ET field and put it into your S:ET field.

If would be good for you to capture your true W:ET from the server, using the /cl_guid command in your console.  You can then use /condump myPBguid.txt, also in the console.  Then copy the last 8 hexadecimal numbers from that 32-digit line into your W:ET field.  Ignore any ":2" at the end.  😄

BTW, you must do /condumps in the console.

ERR, that is the way most of us do it, BUT I decided to test that statement.

Results below, from my condump file, in Silent folder.  (If you do a /condump, then the file will be found in the folder of the mod that the server was playing.  If you do a /condump from Beginners#2, then the file will be found in the Silent folder in your ET Installation).

___________________________________________________________________

I used the T-key to enter this line, and the command was not executed and no file was saved

=F|A=RedBaird: condump test-condump-from-t-chat-window.txt  // line saved in console

I then used the T-key main-chat key again, but put the "/' in front of the condump command.

Dumped console text to test-condump-from-chat-with-slash-leading.txt.  // line in console, note that the /condump command was not recorded in the console, because /command from "anywhere" is a 'silent command', it seems, just like /m A.S.B.O. How ya doing there, mate?

//== Do not need to do condump command from console, but if using chat-windows MUST have a "/" before the command for a file to be saved.

I will have to test that /m matey hi command in the T-chats on the various mods now.   It could be a little more 'dangerous-to-privacy' than habitually opening the console to /m people. 😄

ADDED:

/m matey hi via chat-keys DOES NOT work on Jaymod.  The /m name message shows up in main, team or fire_team like a normal chat.

Do You see GUID in Silentmod?

Just write down last 8 characters

Both the ET & Silent GUIDs in his profile are correct now, as found on Beginners#2.

I see that he is a Level 4 Clan Friend there, too.  😄

Np took me some  days to find out 😜

So you run Etl

Yes! I saw a random link to legacy and that's what brought me back to ET! 👌

Good to know when troubleshooting.  I am not very familiar with the intricacies of ETL.  That is why @Gladiator's solution surprised me! 😮  I would never have thought of that!

Yes, I was going to edit my reply to give credit to @RendeL , too! 😄
