Hi Guys,

After a long time away I recently got back into PC gaming and was pleasantly surprised to still see so many guys playing ET. So looking for to create a custom config.

Main thing for me is the shooting element - my reactions are nowhere near what they once were! And I figured with Legacy there may be some new CVARS I'm not familiar with 😕

My setup is as follows:
CPU - Ryzen 5 2600+
GPU - Aorus GTX 3070
RAM - 32 GB DDR4 @ 3000Mhz
Monitor - 27" 1920x1080 with 75hz refresh.
Mouse - Razer Death Adder 3500 dpi
Internet - Wired network - 300Mbps D/L  150 Mbps U/L

Thanks in advance. Any questions just shout.

Cheers,

Legacy won't download some PK3 files from F|A servers

You'll have to copy them from ET

ETLegacy moves slower ingame than ET for Me with fast computer

When I had a slow computer, ETL moved faster

You'll have to see if it's better...

Can I still play with an old version of ET rather than ETL ? Game seems much slower than I remember - so that could be the trick.

Thanks Buck

Yes, You can use WolfET2.60b, Even though Server is running ETLegacy

Thanks guys - I'll look at getting 2.60b up and running here and maybe test the difference.

Any ideas on Config? Are there any CVARS to modify / avoid. Especially those related to OpenGL given my new GPU.

I looked for Lakes config builder but I am thinking that Website is now redundant! 😳

For the gpu, I think you have nvidia card, so cvar for that is r_primitives 0

As for the cfg, check out our download section, there's lots of old and new cfg's to try.

You will have 40FPS in ET 2.60b if:
- You will have a new graphics card with new drivers (from 2010-2012)
- You will have windows 7 32 / 64bit, 8, 10 32 / 64bit win system

You should have ET 2.60b for XP and old drivers.

Tested

@wh! rlw! nd For such a computer, I recommend the 4K 144Hz 32/35' monitor 🤫

Well, rather old post. But felt just like to reply.

I'm an "ET-Old-Timer" by myself. Had made some custom menus with binding those old days - well around 20 years ago, omg: i'm old 🙂 - but those configs dosn't survive all my hardware updates 🥲. And these days i have to realize that i need to re-learn all about et- configuration/scripting as i seem to have forgotten nearly all about it. 🙄

But i will try my very best to get into it again! 😃

Well welcome back you old timer... it's nice to see that old timers such as yourself still find the time to play stimulating video games without getting overwhelmed... but don't over do it...

I'm sorry I was being silly. My first thought was welcome back and then my second have fun and that anyone can come back and kick butt and then i saw that your connection was wired which is a good thing.
