Obviously, the moviemaker was using some effects on top of the video – however, there are a few "high quality texture packs" around that moviemakers use to make things look good, as well as programs like Image, and mods like the UltravioletMovieMod. They aren't quite so practical for normal use on a server though, or working with PB, for that matter.
