Super bad advice. Never use someone config. I have said this plenty of times. Learn the cvar and add variables in your config as per your needs. Please please never use someone else config.

Youre right, but for those who have never studied cvars and never want, its a option to use someones graphics at least but your own binds.

to get a configuration at the TOP, we need to waste time, and learn the meanings of each parameter, the problem is that the real-life does not allow it to everyone.

However, before you start creating a personal cfg from scratch, make sure you get the best performance first in the video card control panel.

you can copy all your BINDS
in an empty cfg and save it
example binds.cfg
after which you can also try all the cfg that you find around the net, there are many made well and good, the best players of "ET" from around the world, once loaded the cfg to try, opening the console and writing "exec binds "you will have your favorite binds available, so you can always use them while you try the other cfg

The only descent config was from antman.zip - but ONLY use that config if player plays ETPRO.  He has configs which disables auto download, list etpro servers only. Ex -  It will only display PB enabled servers and soon players will complain OMG no servers in master list.

In my book all internet configs are 99% bogus. Because what worked for 1 player - will hardly work for another player unless they use same machine and PC specs. But 95% configs will have all this bogus cvars.

That default config  - which ET generates - it doesn't know you are going to play ET or use that installation as server. So default ET config aka etconfig.cfg has lot's of stuff. 

 

Never use default config as your base config. Just modify the cvars which you like and put those cvars in autoexec.cfg which ET will execute on each start by default. Problem solved. 

 

Also default ET config is 10Kb - if you add more binds on top of default config - you will soon hit 14Kb limit or so. So it makes no sense for anyone to put default config cvars of etconfig.cfg in your autoexec.cfg.

it was only to clarify, that from installation to the first start of age, to create this etconfig, which then reading the explanation for each parameter, anyone can create his own custom cfg to his liking, saving it, and uploading it later.

 

 

obviously the best way, to get a small cfg as you're pointing out

and to create more than one cfg, and to tie them together

A 1050 isn't a bad card by any means. I'd call it a lower mid-range card. Definitely more than adequate for ET.
What driver version are you running? Does ET have a custom profile under "3D settings" (I think that's what it's called anyways)

You can just uninstall GeForce experience if you don't like it, it's not part of the driver.
